Got some hate mail and also some supportive mail about my staged battle thread that was closed down. Now, I don't mind that it was closed but I knew it would be when some of the established big name players started showing up there.
I already had that conversation with people, knowing that they would stop the thread before it happened and I was correct. Very predictable.
There is a group of players who control this game in many aspects and if you are on the outside, too bad for you but if you are in the "circle" you can benefit by having big brother(or sister) on your side.
The excuses I read about not knowing the rules are laughable when it comes to staged battles. Tell me each person didn't know exactly what they were doing when they staged them? Established rule or not at the time of the battles, it is lame to have done it. Now I am the bad guy for exposing them! LOL, yeah right! The enablers are the lame ones.
Another excuse is " that was a long time ago." Imagine telling a police officer " But sir, I robbed that bank in 2008! Come on now, that was last year!" Cop to criminal:"Hey yeah, you are right. What was I thinking? That was such a long time ago!" Nice try Einsteins.
So there was no rule for staged battles "way back then?" OK, fine BUT for some to try and defend these actions because there wasn't a rule...are you for real? I wonder why most players did not create a character for staged battles or join their friends in them? Because they weren't smart enough to take advantage of it? Harldy. The answer is that the players predating the staged battle rule knew it was unethical and wanted to earn their stripes. Hats off to you, those who scrapped it out in the lower levels and did it right. You are a credit to the gaming world.
I put my money where my mouth is. I bought over 200 diamonds so far and my opinion is worth as much as the next person's.
It is uncomfortable seeing many of the mods listed as family members of other mods. This creates the appearance of us vs. them. I am not the only player who feels this way before this is brushed aside with a wave of the hand. Some don't like me because I am not a lemming to just be silent and go along with the status quo. I don't think it will ever change but my voice will be heard at least. As can be seen from the records, even some in the circle of power have their skeletons and are no better than the rest of us. In all aspects of life, down to a simple online game, people with connections get treated differently that those on the outside. From politics, to your place of work, and on and on.
One battle stager had many on his record(unknown before I posted them) and had the nerve to report others for the same thing! Lame!
There is a cheating culture across the gaming world and it stinks! In every game, players will try and break or bend the rules to get ahead. Some are truly innocent mistakes while others are blatant.
I raised my sons to respect the gaming culture(sports included) and to play an honest game. I am proud of them as true gamers who take the good with the bad, win or lose.
They have a PS3 and play a game called Ultimate Fighting. Each online player has a win/loss record and most gamers prize their rankings/ratings in whatever game they play. I watch them battle and both win and lose. Then I started seeing (about 30% of the time) players who lose unplug their system before the loss is recorded so my sons won for nothing. In those battles their records could only go down because the other player planned to unplug if he/she lost. I see the frustration on their faces when it happens. It totally takes the joy from their win. I have to explain what sort of losers are out there in the gaming world to them and to not be like them but it still stinks to see this go on.
Cheating can totally ruin a whole game and shut it down for everyone.

Our peers) are mods and judges. Can you imagine the goalie in a soccer game as the ref? Insane! That is exactly what we have here though. If there are ever War Clans it would be unseemly to have an enemy clan with multiple mods/judges. I think the system is bad.
Also, is it possible for the mods to get together and come up with their own system for bans? It would be nice to see all players treated equally under some system. The wildly different range of bans(times) tells me there is no system.
I am not picking on mods. I assume you are paid in game gold? I wouldn't want the job as I am a hothead and would make a bad mod. At least I can admit that about myself.
I would like to see limustudotcom become a mod. How is this accomplished? He is the leader of one of the best clans and a fair and reasonable fellow. Do I write to Empire? Does he?
