Authortravelers being ambushed by NPC
When thieves set ambush, they may meet travelers (players) or caravans, but have a great chance to meet caravans. As what I noticed, a large portion of the thieves wear ~30 AP (for efficiency and economy consideration) and their troop recruiting and strategy are set for dealing with caravans. But for travelers, they only have one choice – meet thief player once get ambushed, that’s 100% for sure. Some “smart” players also found this, so they use a PvP favored factions, like knight, wiz, necro, wear 50+ AP, traveling back and force all around the maps looking for thieves for an unevened fight and lots of easy exp and fsp. Since the rule is to protect “victim”, they don’t need to worry about the troop and mana restore, they can fight one after another.

So here is my suggestion: Can travelers have a certain chance to meet NPC thief, like the brigand in MG quests? So when player traveling around the map, they have a certain chance to avoid being ambushed. One get ambushed, they also have a certain chance to meet either thief player or the NPC brigand.
Well, I'm not sure. For one, they would have to not lose health, because, eventually these ambushers will become impossible, like everything else. And you have no choice about meeting them, since you have to travel at some point.

But it might work..

+1 for the idea, though I'm not sure if it would actually be you know- good for the game I guess?

This was one of the merc quests I suggested before. Players could get merc quests that has them hunting npc thieves and player thieves.

But don't you already have quests essentially hunting NPC thieves?
Isnt it a little too hard to travel from one location to another?
Should be like thief caravans, and you don't lose health. So, use minimum arts, win-lose ratio is about 50-50, and its just free xp and skill, travel around when you have no other battles :)
I will wear Full arts every time I'm travling:)

Hmm, from this perspective, the thief is much more of the victim than the ambushed, as they need to restore mana/ health, with tgi rental date on hindsight. In any case, MQ already has 'ambushed' quests, I personally don't see the reason to duplicate a similar game feature.

As for #6, this would mean that every player >lvl6 will continuously travel back and forth gc -> yl, and everyone above lvl6 will effectively be power-leveling up to lvl14 quite easily :) While this will increase the rate for which thieves are able to earn their tg points, and stimulate spending of gold on arts, the downside is upsetting the xp curve, and making other map locations more redundant.

Then the broke players can play forever and i will do that too to decrease money spent

I think this is not a good idea. When I travel, I want to go from point A to point B. Even now there is a chance that thief ambushes me. I don't like it now, I would like it even more if NPC thief bothers me as well. YOU are the thief, you decide when and where do you set up your ambush. I am a mere victim as a traveller and therefore I don't see a reason why this game should become harder for me.

But some people don't. Some people might want extra EXP and FSP.

my points is not to increase the chance to be ambushed. let's say keep the current 20% probability, but within this 20% chance, travelers may meet NPC or player, the ratio could be 50/50 or 80/20...

also, it could be different to the MG quest, no guild points will be given, no need to pick the quests in YL, and the difficulty is fixed for each level.
