AuthorWhat do these numbers do?
Can someone tell me what these numbers actually do for me? I know I gain these when it says: Sylfaen gets 0.5 skill points etc.
But what effect do these actually have on my playing? Better attack, or what?

Elf: 1 (30.52) +19.5

Thanks in advance! :-)
That's your faction skill level/point, you gain bonusses by having more levels of them

But what effect do these actually have on my playing?Well:

Elf: 1 means that you are a level 1 elf. If you change factions, you will get 3% extra defence for elf on level 1 elf, 6% for level 2, etc.

(30.52) means you have 30.52 points, and +19.5 means you need 19.5 points (rounded to the nearest tenth) to get to the next level.

On hunts, if you win you get 0.5 points. (I dont know how many if you lose, since i never lost a fight!)
As Andy said, the first number is the Racial Skill Level you have, the second is the total amount of Skill points you have and the next is the amount needed to get to the next Skill level.

Then follow the link Head-shot gave, Look under <Racial skill table>:
This shows the benefits you get for reaching a certain skill level. At Racial Skill level 1, your troops get +1 Defence.

And, as Andy was saying, for each racial skill level you have in a faction, you receive 3% less damage from people of that faction. Right now, all Elf players deal 3% less damage against you

for AndyTockman:
You can't lose skill points. even if you lose.
Excepting the experience table given in post #2, I would recommend for further reading:

https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=34

All these explain how the faction level influences a combat.
for Takesister:
I said that I don't know how many you earn if you lose. I said I never lost a fight, but I meant hunt.
Thank you, everyone! I understand it now :-)
