There is no benefit at all to leave any recruits of a troop type in your castle.
But if you leave an entire type of troop behind, you can get an additional space on your Battle settlement bar to use. You only have a fixed 7 spaces, removing a entire troop type would allows you to split the other troops into more stacks.
Example:
You have Gremlins, Gargoyles and Golems. They take up 3 slots in the settlement bar. That means you only can split 4 more stacks from these( 20 gremlins, 16 golems, 13 Gargoyles, 1 Gargoyle,1 Gargoyle,1 Gargoyle,1 Gargoyle)
But if you don't bring a single Gremlin you can do 16 golems, 12 Gargoyles, 1 Gargoyle,1 Gargoyle,1 Gargoyle,1 Gargoyle, 1 Gargoyle. You can use the space that the Gremlins used to be on to split one more stack. |
