I think that adding the ability to choose a deity or a God would make things more interesting.
Everyone would be able to choose one depending on the magic they use e.g. A knight would be able to choose a holy or dark deity.
Every deity should give a different bonus to the player. It will be like a guild "worshipping" that would level when you use magic of that deity e.g. when i follow a holy deity in order to increase my faction points i have to cast holy spells like bless or stoneskin.
Bonuses the "worhsipping" guild should give are like +1 SP to the spells of the deity or +1 KN.Maybe for holy it could give morale at a high level or for dark -1 morale for the opponent.
That way players are pushed more into using a magic build since it will make spells more powerful and useful. |
barbs won't like this idea :p |
barbs would have special gods that are worshipped by those ogres shamans and would give +attack or morale |
the guild would go up every time the hero attacks but at a lower rate |
Barbs = Greater Combat School lv 3 (:P) Super Mass Stun 5*5 area effect lol
actually this idea would make things well unbalanced even more so i say -1 :( |
as per the Rules page labeled 'Factions':
Wizards consider themselves to be a dominating race on the Empire lands. They don’t believe in the existence of supreme beings and think that, if enough energy in conducting researches and experiments is spent, one can achieve capabilities of Gods by oneself.
wizards would suffer from this,
Though I think some addition of Gods would be interesting to the game. It doesnt necessarily have to be something to gain anything from, but merely as a means to further identify with the factions and characters. Another tool of this could be to have artifacts with their god's blessing on them...and of course that's another way to go instead of using the Enchanters Guild it could be the Blessing Guild (faith magic and not arcane magic). |

I'm with you Decrous. This idea needs way more work and thought or else it'll just make things unbalanced. |
wizards may not believe in gods but they could have a supreme wizard that bestows his blessings to only the most powerful wizards.
As for the Super Mass Stun 5*5 area effect i had no idea this thing even existed.. sigh
Maybe for barbs it could go up when they kill a stack(can't think of an exact formula)
Anyway if the idea is bad we could just use it as a mean to further identify with the factions and characters |
Same as post 5 and 7 , your idea needs more thought, but then... I'll gladly pay tribute to the God of Random to trigger off more luck and morale, and most importantly, win at roulette :) |
Another idea it would be to grow along with faction e.g someone who played as a holy knight and managed to get to faction 3 then decided to change to elf and still followed the holy path and increases his elf faction to 2 he should have 90+50=140 worshipping points
Here is my idea:
God of Chaos
A god that is pleased by destruction and pandemonium. He is worshipped mostly by vicious warlocks and bloodthirsty natives of the Empire. He shows himself to mortals only when he orders them to do his dirty jobs. His blessings will make your spells and units more deadly.
Level skill pts Bonus
1 50 +1% ini
2 120 +1 SP to Chaos magic
3 260 +1% ini
4 540 +1 KN
5 960 +1 attack
6 1500 |
6 1500 +1 SP to Chaos magic |
there could be a Temple as a public service. it can work something like merc guild, doing quest for reward. quest could be battles PvP and PvM, or donating gold or resource to the temple. reward could be bonus skill parameter for a limited time (for example 1 hour). |
