i guess whatever sound they would create for this game would go on my nerves pretty soon...
music would be repetitive, even if the did 10 different soundtracks.
and effects would probably be even worse... all that "clang" and "whoosh" and "kaboom"...
i'm glad this game has no sound - and hope it stay that way. |

If you want, you are free to listen music while battling, playing in tavern or whatever. You just need another tab open. And, think in the people with low speed connection, they would lose settlement just to listen a music? Same if this is opcional, this game is for battles and so on, not to listen music. |

this idea may seem nice at first, but in reality it is not, and for a few good reasons.
a) bandwidth limitations, both on the server and player's side. for technical reasons it would be almost impossible to implement such a feature.
b) people have different tastes. so such a feature would be useless and even annoying to many people.
c) licencing. if you want to have decent music you'd need to use licensed material, and since this is a free game, that is not gonna happen.
d) variety. due to server costs, the game is forced to have just a few songs available. so it's gonna get pretty boring and annoying in just a few days.
and besides, consider the alternative (which is what we have right now), i.e. having a game that loads fast and consumes very little bandwidth, and the server costs are really cheap, so that the few donations that players are making is enough for the admins to keep the servers running; and on the music side of things, we have a choice whether we want to listen to a free online radio, or we want to listen to songs played from our PC, or if we just want peace and quite !!! |
