AuthorLuck
Hi all,

I have a little Q about the probability of Luck triggering in battle.

We all know that the more luck u 'wear' into battle, the higher the chance luck will trigger during an attack. But what is the 'base' for luck?

Example, we know if we wear certain initiative arts, we get a certain % increase. But how is the possibility of luck calculated?

Example: If I have +1 luck, and the base is say eg, 10, I have 1/10 (10%) chance of luck triggering during an attack. If I have +2, then it'll be 20%.

IF this example is the case, then wearing +5 luck is worth the gold spent and the expense of sacrificing other arts, as it gives you a 50% chance of luck triggering for every attack.

But if the base is say, 100, and wearing +5 luck only gives you a 4% increase in the possibility of luck triggering during an attack, then, the wearing the additional luck would not be worth it, in my opinion.

So does anyone knows how the possibility of triggering luck is calculated?

Btw, this is the official definition of Luck, and it doesn't says much, unlike other abilities, where formulas are given on how it's calculated:

• Luck
The greater this parameter is, the more probable it is to deal double damage to the opponent with physical attacks. Luck shouldn't be negative, or else the damage might become twice lower. Luck can befall any creature in combat.

Thanks in advance.
i belive that is something unknown
found it n a hypothetical experiment with infinite amount of triggering, the general probability is still equal to 10% per morale/luck point.
It's documented here @ https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=35
From: https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=35

The probability of morale/luck triggers = F^(1+[moves befallen so far]-[moves not befallen so far]*F/(1-F)), whence F is luck/10 or morale/10, each stack having its own independent counters for morale and luck; F∈[0;0.5]
In general, troops are befallen with morale/luck according to its normal probability. In case if it hasn't trigger for several consecutive turns, the odds of getting it on the next turn increase each time, and vice versa. In a hypothetical experiment with infinite amount of triggering, the general probability is still equal to 10% per morale/luck point.

So, yes, it is 10% per point.
morale/luck triggers = F^(1+[moves befallen so far]-[moves not befallen so far]*F/(1-F)), whence F is luck/10 or morale/10, each stack having its own independent counters for morale and luck; F∈[0;0.5]

What the... Einstein would have problem with this one.. :p

Hmm.. so +10 luck (if it's even possible) would theoretically means a Luck strike on every attack. :)

On a side note, what's the max Luck anyone has ever wore (or heard someone else wore) going into a battle?

Thanks all for the replies. :)
ever? never heard of it. though it stops taking effect under 5
Oh, and just so I get this clear, if you go into battle with 0 Luck, there's NO chance of luck triggering, right?
ever? never heard of it. though it stops taking effect under 5

Huh? What do u mean, misself?
#9
misself probably meant over 5. 5 is the max effective luck. if you have more than 5, the effect is the same as 5.
0 Luck = 0% chance of Luck occurring, yes.

Maximum is 50% chance, you cannot get higher than that, from what I've heard.
Oh.. okie, cool. Thanks all.
