without pointing any fingers here does anyone gets annoyed when someone types his comments in one long and i mean super long sentence with absolutely no punctuation at all and instead he joins all his sentences together with the word 'and' and heck he doesn't even care about capital letters commas full stops apostrophies and am i just being a bit too picky here and sorry for the long winded rant :( |
but u just did all those things |
i do it on a regular basis. its the internet, as long as people understand you there is no need to put in more effort. |
Don't you think the way you type out your sentences demonstrates your character and level of education? This is such a lazy way of typing, IMO.
Whenever I see such posts, the vision of a fat, lazy bum with long unkept hair holding a potato chip in one hand, while typing with the other comes to mind.

I was trying to make a point there. |
Me too, I don't like them, they can make my english ruin =(. I don't like them but not hate them =) |

Don't you think that using abbreviations is the same? Don't the abbreviations show a degree of laziness? E.g. (exempli grazia), "IMO"... :) |
Well if you see the way someone types and then immediately judge their character, you have much bigger personal issues you need to work on then being able to use punctuation.
How would it make you feel if i said whenever i saw someone with perfect grammar on internet forums, the vision of a small, scrawny, pimpled faced nerd with glasses who spent way to much time in high school and college studying to the point where they had no human interaction so that led to a life of internet highs where they try to show everyone what they have learned?
this is kind of a jerk mentality, and i don't see it this way. be more open minded, things you find important may not be the same as others. |

Erm, you have a point there. Oh, well...

To each his own, I guess. On second thoughts, maybe I have over-reacted by starting this thread.
