TVCs (Television Commercials) are not cheap to produce and the airtime is even more expensive. Their reach is "limited" in the sense you need to catch the right audience at the right time in the right show/programme - the benefits are greatly reduced by these factors vis-a-vis costs.
a cheaper alternative (and more aligned to LWM's nature) is online advertising, which has already been mooted in otehr threads.

Just spread that newspaper to players in 50 world countries and make it go on air also in 50 countries. Maybe try some sponsorship of FIFA championship, olympic games or maybe some snooker tournament.
I can see that: Most famous online brands: Google, bwin and lordswm..just a 50 milion diamonds and we can keep these adverts on for a week. Seriously, some of you guys really dont have any idea how the world is spinning. :-)

200,000.00 is for one MINUTE during some limited show like Grace`s Anatomy, 6 000 000 are for sport events.
For those who dont quite understand the worth of 200,000 dollars. Its 400 new computers. Its 1000 milion game gold when you convert it to diamonds. Or 3 newest Lexus cars or 1 minute add during some comedy show. And the banks dont take game gold as payment. :-)

drawing from my advertising background, i'd like to offer a cheap alternative which marries the strengths of the various medium suggested above and reaches out to a captive audience which represents our typical gamer's profile i.e. young 15-23 year old, schooling, Tech-savvy, etc
Medium: Youtube
Vehicle: a 30-60 sec "trailer" snapshot of the essence of LWM e.g. battles, talents, arts, map, etc
Treatment: a combination of stills/screenshots/grabs and "live" action
Music: Yes, an uptempo rock track, preferably an original composition
Cost: on a voluntary basis, it's only your time and effort; this project can easily be undertaken and completed in a matter of hours or at most days
in fact, this idea is not new and my respect goes out to those who have attempted to publicise this game e.g.

in closing, i'd like to say that it is because of critics and "soothsayers" who predict impending demise of my/our beloved .com that i contribute/do what i can (to extend the longevity of .com even by 1 day). i believe there are those reading this who share the same passion and love for this game as i do; perhaps we should stop complaining/criticising, do something about it and share our obession with others? |
| I think advertising on internet is the cheapest and most effective way for this game. And every player can help - just place a link to the game (your reference link preferably) on some gamers site. There are thousands of appropriate websites around and if you find a good one you can get a lot of gold from players joining via your reference link ;) |
