But sword of might gives 5 att 3% ini and Mithril longsword 6 att and 2% ini and 5% melee damage.
Do you think that because of 5% melee damage Mithril longsword should cost almost double as sword of might? |
1 attack is worth more than 1% init.
I'm thinking since mithril longsword is the best, it should be even more expensive. :) |
yes, it's too expensive:
5% melee < 1 attack, so it's 2 more attack compare to sword of might
price of Mithril longsword is about 1.69 times of sword of might, but it has less durability, 70 vs 80.
so the per battle price is about doubled (1.93 times) for less than 2 attack.
On the other hand, another lvl 9 weapon are little bit cheaper compare to the lvl 8 one:
Mithril staff: 1 attack, 2 spell, 2 know
Staff of power: 2 spell, 2 know
price of of Mithril staff is 1.14 times of Staff of power, but it has 40% more durability, 70 vs 50.
so Mithril staff give you 1 more attck, but its per battle price is only 81% of Staff of power. :D |

I just hope they don't change repair costs..... then that would be bad.
But I think admins should be introducing the next wave of higher level arts soon. There are no lvl 11-13 arts yet, but there are players in that lvl range already. |

Maybe admins should recommend arts for factions,i think that would be useful. |

1% ini is good for elves; but i bet most elves would say 1 attack > 1% ini.

| The Mithril sword is definitely not worth its cost, at least compared to the Sword of Might. Unfortunately, that's just the law of diminishing value. As artifacts become more powerful, it just costs more and more for each addtional +1 bonus. Unfortunately, even knowing that the price of the Mithril Sword is outrageous, we still buy it because that little, weeny bit of extra bonus may just give us enough of an edge in a close battle. |

| This might be off topic, but these swords remind me that arts that improve attack/damage are much less plentiful than those that improve defense. I've always felt that we don't have a very good mix of artifacts. |

You don't? I still use low-level arts, as I'm sure may of us do. Not all battles require you to whip out that over-priced Mithril Sword. I was still using the Steel Blade, until level 9, when it's no longer enough to satisfy the AP requirement. |

I used to use light axe for AP requirement. Nowadays I get lazy and want to save inventory space, so I use the equilibrium blade. |
The reprisal sword is cheaper than the steel blade in the minimum ap set for level 9 though.
