Sometimes the work codes are undecipherable. If the work code is so mangled that you can not figure it out, there is no option except giving up or trying all different kinds of combinations.
What is needed is to refigure the same code so it appears differently after it is entered incorrectly. The code will be the same but the image needs to be recalculated. This will not effect the bot check feature and will let us get by indecipherable work codes.
How to implement:
When a work code is entered incorrectly, or anytime a page with a work code appears. Call the application to mangle the work code image. Keep the same work code but mangle the image each time the work code is displayed. This would enable us to reset the page to get a new work code display.
Or simply add a redisplay button so that we can get decipherable work codes from ones that the machine makes but are unreadable. |
In the meantime what you could do is right click the code, go to properties and get the link then go to chat or the forums and post the link for help from others.

Not exactly a bad idea, but not terribly useful either :P
It just takes a bit of practice to tell the codes apart.

| ...and that will help the automatic scripts to enroll you everytime you are out of your PC. Believe me or not, the codes here are readable and can be broken by a pattern recognition software pretty easily. I've seen worse. |
| Yea it is not that terrible a problem but ive had several work codes that I could not figure out at all. This would be an easy solution and would avoid all future problems. Most places that use this kind of bot check have a display again feature. Basically the algorithm that mangles the code display doesnt understand humans that well, and we differ alot on how we discern images. For example, a dyslexic person may have a completely different set of troubles discerning images. Seems like not being able to refresh the work code was probably just an ommission, something they will add eventually but there were more important things to do. |
