Demons, unlike the rest of the factions (well, maybe with the exception of necromancers, who still are human anyway) are evil by nature. But in the game we see them fighting side by side with the rest of the empire's soldiers. Their presence is mentioned three times throughout the story so far without explaining their alliance with the rest of the races, hence the questions: How come the hellish legions fight under the banner of the Empress? What could their small numbers (7%) indicate? Why dont they just kill the humans and return to wherever they came from? Are they planning to first gain their trust and then backstab them? Are they here to search for the gates of hell so that they can open them and conquer the world?
I would like to hear other opinions on the reasons behind the surpising friendship demons demonstrate towards humans and elves | well, i have no idea on the story about demon in LWM.
since this game is based on HMM, you can get a reference from HMM. demon (or so called Chaos in HMM) is a faction which is hostile to any all faction.
they hate Asha (you can call is as god in HMM). they believe no one. they will bring all the destruction and chaos on the land of Asha. it is just like a opposite Asha. Asha bring hope and construct while Chaos bring death wish and destroy.
according to HMM, all those demon cant be killed. for everytime demon defeated, they just sent back to hell. it will take time for those demons to get back to surface from hell.
