Authorcontributing to lag... NO complaints
This is not a complaint about the lag problem so don't post your complaints here.

It seems like lag is worse for me when work places end there shift and the click wars begin. I imagine the server is getting bombarded with hits from everyone trying to buy those items that are in high demand and from people racing to sell resources. The problem is that any fix I see for this would be a major change to the current mechanics of the game, which many would dislike. A couple things they could do is create a X second delay, 5,10 or whatever, between selling resources, or buying items. Meaning you sell wood to a production facility you have to wait 10 seconds before you can sell another resource. There could even be a timer like when you post a message you can post another message until the timer runs out.

Anyone else have any other possible contributions to our lag issue and possible solutions post them here, absolutely NO complaining though.
Let all shifts end at the same time, only once an hour some (major) lag instead of every 10 minutes.
The lag we have last couple of days and a couple of times in the past has probably nothing to do with the amount of requests on the server. There might be a high load for 2 seconds when shifts end but that does not justify server lag like what we have now. It is probably some network problem that has to be solved. If you try to ping the server ( try sending say 100 packets - open a command prompt and type "ping -n 100 www.lordswm.com" you will see a good percentage of packets is lost on the way ).

I just wanted to say that these problems are rather normal for internet games ( e.g I was playing for several years World of Warcraft and Blizzard - the company that produced it - has probably recorded the highest revenue from 1 game in history by far - still every now and then there was lag and far worse than this one we got here ). So stop complaining and have some patience... it's like 1 day or 2 since the problem appeared...
The way it is right now most shifts end at :20 of each hour. That is when I notice the most lag. Making them all end at the same time might help for 50 minutes of every hour, but I don't think it is a good idea to make every shift end at the same time. And I would be afraid that the server would crash at the massive amount of people clicking stuff. But then again maybe it is a good idea because the number of people shouldn't change that much, they would just have more options of where they could be selling resources.
I had some experiences when I only have 1 - 4 seconds left to setup my army before the battle :((

If we can have a default setup (previously saved before) for :
1. Hunting
2. Ambush
3. Being ambushed

(2&3 for level 6 and above)

I think it will help a little (in case we didn't have enough time to setup our army).

I have thought of that before also. Even if we could save one setup that could be used for any battle type, that would be better than getting stuck with the way troops are placed now. Good idea for a quick fix help.
I often try to Ping lordswm.com and I find that the TTL (time to live) is always more than 200ms .. means SLOW .. ^^ .. I think just the server where this site stays is too bad .. ^^

TTL is not counted in miliseconds , at least not in computer science of planet earth :P you probably mean the round-trip time for packets
for Jabbar: forgive me .. wrong typing .. sorry .. Yeah I mean the time for the server to reply our request .. ^^
