Doesn't that game feature annoy you? I usually end up with factions which outdamage me by far, taking my share of exp as well as reducing my skill points received.
It's pretty annoying and unfair for defensive classes don't you think? |
Yup, but that rarely happens... at least to me it happens rarely |
i wish i had "taken to their heels"
it means you get a free hunt and the troop size wont be increased for your next hunt
But unfortunately... it barely happens for me =( |

Depends on your hunt partner. If he's reasonable, he won't steal your points - you can always ask him to leave your share of creeps to you. |
the baddest if someone brings to me lorekeepers, and i am bringing to him 2500 demons, lorekeepers kill my shrews and i loose the battle ofcourse he does that too, but it is too rarely to happen lol. 1 in a million . |
I brought a level 3 my 70 Hydra... he died so I had to take care of his farmers. No trouble for me but I felt bad for the guy. |

he never died, and he wasnt level 3 |
I guess the purpose of this feature was to generate more interaction between players. But if the size of next army of this type doesn't get increased, that's a good thing, althuogh I still don't like it.
However, I noticed another negative side effect of this feature. Couple days ago, I had like 5 free minutes before setting off to work. I log in, check the map and see some easy white or green difficulty level army. And I thought, okay, that's gonna be a quickie. But what happened? They took to their heels, and I ended up with a 15 or more minute battle that was supposed to last only a few minutes. And I was late for work :p |

o_O I am thinking of the wrong one then? There were two (or three) I had grouped like that... so perhaps I am mixing memories. I recall having one with hydras and a level 3. It is possible they were separate instances; though I could have sworn that was the scenario. So much for my memory u_u; |
And I was late for work :p
But you didn't go AFK, proving you are truly a reliable player... Or have a strange sense of priorities... In the end I don't know =) |

Fortunately for me, it's okay to be late just a few minutes where I work ;). But still, such feature actually disallows to play if you don't have at least 15-20 minutes of free time and that's not a good thing. |

i can understand, i had it on my last shared fight.

me+elf VS 96 plain wolves, 1663 farmers
i can't have a good placement for my units (my normal placement is all troops on 1st line, close to the center to cover all the battlefield)
i'm forced to place all my units on the top of battlefield, with units on 2nd line blocked by units on 1st line, and i lose my 1st turn to make 1 tile moves to unblock units on the 2nd line.
after that, ennemies units rushed the bottom of the battlefield (where the elf was) and more than half of my stacks were unable to reach them.
i could have reach ennemies with main stacks, but it would have been suicidal: retaliations would have killed me.
i needed to take retals off first with small units, but my small units were out of range because of the bad placement at the beggining (they stand on top corner instead of being in 1st line on center), and my elf teammate was unable to take retals off for me: he had only no-retaliations units: splitted sprites, 1 stack of 12 druids and 1 stack of 22 bowmens. (he didn't brink fk on the battle)
i didn't do anything on first turns: only moving my small stacks close to my teammate position, and waiting for them with my main stacks.
after losing my first turns, i finally reached some wolfs with a stack of 1 rogue and i was able to kill them with my main stacks.
then elf blocked the way of farmers with his stacks of 1 sprites, but it blocked my stack of 1 rogue too. i needed him to take reatls off, i was forced to move him to be able to reach at next turn, and i lost another turn for all my other units.
after that, my stack of 1 rogue was killed while trying to reach, without possibility to take retal off for my main stacks.
at the end of fight, i was finally able to hit some farmers with my main stacks without too strong retaliations because of their low numbers after elven bowmen's shoots.
having an elf as teammate cuts down my fire power by at least 75%: my units can't do anything, just wait and look at the elf killing all.
with other factions, initial placement is bad too, but at least ennemies tries to reach my rogues, and i don't have much problems to reach them.
battle was not too hard, but it was nearly like if elf was alone.
i killed only 38 plain wolves (elf killed 58)
i killed only 493 farmers (elf killed 1170)
i'm happy because of free hunter points, and master hunter shield, but fight in himself was very frustrating.
and i'm playing DE (offensive faction)
i can imagine what it would be for a necromancer... |
If we analyse combats from this perspective, I'll tell you this: true, liches have an area attack BUT... compared to EFK it's nothing. First of all I often can't shoot with liches into crowds of enemies if there's an allied non-undead army on a nearby square. While EFK can attack any enemy crowd without the risk of damaging allied units. So, when I'm in combat with allied elves they get to attack crowded enemy armies and I have to wait or attack single armies. Plus their critical damage combined with high luck most often results in me getting like 0.1-0.15 skill points and 1/4-1/3 of the exp they get. And for the record, I can't use luck artifacts all the time cause the rings are expensive and have low durability.
It's not much better when a wizard is my team mate. Massive damage from spells outdamages my troops damage.
Knights? If they have crossbowmen maxed out and luck I get to see damages 1-1,8k... While my best shot with 150~ skeleton bowmen with luck was 750 or so.
I do realise that my zombies makes strong opponents weak ( that however helps mostly damage dealing factions resulting in them taking even more exp ), ghosts take no damage on average in 50% cases, vamps heal themselves and undead in general are immune to poison and mind affecting spells plus they're easily raiseable. But that's all defensive stuff and damages my troops deal are ridiculously low which result in getting extremly low skill points when in battle with allied player of elven, knights' or wizard faction.
So basically, in most cases I get to watch my team mate clear the stage and I'm just the passage blocker and damage absorber. That's why I don't like the monsters taking to their heels ;) |
For me it is OK .. I mean .. we can hunt more ... ^^ |
Sorry forgot to post : And the other advantage is that we know how to work in team ^^(not flooding to Shebali sorry) |

not flooding to Shebali sorry
Stop that. If you're not flooding, why apologise? If you are flooding and know about it, simply don't do that.

Necro's destiny ;) But it's not that bad if the other teammate is knight or wisard - it's elves who are trouble :P |
Jeverag sais:
^^ Yeah smtimes it annoying but it'll be unexpected things that can bring more excitement ;) |
- it's elves who are trouble :P
Hey I resent that! ;p |

Ahem.
"I dunno, elves are crazy. At one moment they'll be shooting arrows, at the next there's a dagger in your face :( "
Whose words? ;) |
