Author | Not really accurate... little unfair too |
Admins' way of checking if characters are multis is not really accurate. They check for the IP address (right?) and if 2 chars log in from the same IP and transfer gold, resources... etc. to each other, admins will ban the extra(or should).
But what if they are just siblings in real life?
What if :
Character X and Y are siblings in real life. X transferred 2000 gold to Y and Y gave 2000 gold back to X the next day. Even if they wrote on their profile that they are siblings, admins (most of the time) will still ban them. (Because anyone can just declare that)
That would be unfair to them (X and Y) because if A and B are friends, and they transfer stuff to each other (with everything repaid), admins (most of the time) wont ban them.
Basically, what I'm trying to imply is that admins should find a more substential way to find out if some lords are multis or not.
PS, if admins dont use IP address method to check for multis, then sorry for this topic... |
That's why you're supposed to declare on you profile if you're logging on from a PC shared with other people...
3.8. The fact of logging multiple characters in the game from one computer must be by all means shown in the "character information" of all those characters with explanation of reason (relatives, friends, playing from a computer club etc).

I was wondering the same thing, cause me and my 3 brothers all play from the same IP. (On diffrent PCs)
Also I'd like to know if it's legal if we all fight in one combat. It would be so much fun to play against each other.
And if it's forbidden, what if we all compete in a tournament and happen to fight each other? Is this illegal? |

my answer to that:
Character X and Y are siblings in real life. X transferred 2000 gold to Y and Y gave 2000 gold back to X the next day. Even if they wrote on their profile that they are siblings, admins (most of the time) will still ban them. (Because anyone can just declare that) |
i agree |
for LeNgZaISD:
I know people who share computers with siblings and the admins never bothered them. I don't think checking IP addresses is the only way to check for multi abuse anyway. Maybe they got banned for some other reason... |

again, my answer:
Character X and Y are siblings in real life. X transferred 2000 gold to Y and Y gave 2000 gold back to X the next day. Even if they wrote on their profile that they are siblings, admins (most of the time) will still ban them.
Note the TRANSFERRED.

What about my question? Is it legal for me and my brothers to fight against eachothers? |
that u hv to ask admin... |
Umm I think it is legal to play against or with your brothers...
I'm not too sure so better to check up on the rules... |
These are the only 2 rules under section 3 about combat:
3.8.1. Participation of several characters played from one computer in one combat is prohibited.
3.16. Staged combats leading one of the parties to losing a priori will be punished for. A staged combat by definition is one where any one of the parties or party members intentionally loses to the other for any reason different from having technical problems with access to the game. Instigation to losing a combat is also forbidden. |
Thanks. I'll try to find an answer with the rules, I already read them but I'll check them again. All that stuff with playing from same IP is really confusing... |
Sorry for double-post. I checked the rules and as you sad they say:
3.8.1. Participation of several characters played from one computer in one combat is prohibited.
But that doesn't answer my question, cause we don't play from same computer, only same IP. Is there an admin to answer my question? |
I think Arctic is the closest to an admin who will answer your question... and hopefully reply to my statement
=) |
in case you wonder how the IP check works, here is an ...illustrative example :}

LeNgZaISD, what do you mean in your question?
Is X and Y playing from the same IP? If so, what's your beef? It's totally against the rules to transfer items, when sharing an IP.
Is X and Y not playing from the same IP, but are siblings in real life? If so, it is allowed for them to transfer items.
As a sidenote, there is no friggin way for anyone to make any difference between two people sharing an IP and a cheater trying to get away with it, other than actually traveling to that actual adress in real life, and sitting there watching your every move.
So, if dear X and Y want to transfer items and gold between eachother, the only way they can do that according to the rules, is to play from different IPs.
Also, the same goes for Nonsense's question. No, you can't fight eachoter when you play from the same IP. That is what the admins look for. The IP. Not how many computers are connected to that network. They check the one single IP that is connected to the outside world. |

Sorry, I forgot to mention that they do transfer items between each other. :p |

Apparently admins dont spare a though for poor families who can only afford 1 computer...
Sorry for creating this topic then... |
my bro and i play from the same ip, and we never have any transfer between us, because we dont see the need of doing so |
I would like to see proof of people getting banned when they follow the rules and declare other accounts being played on the same IP by relatives. If transfers are happening between accounts that look legit I would imagine the admins would not do any banning.
I'm surprised no one has asked for or shown an evidence yet in this thread. |
