AuthorCombat Staff and Magic Powder Chronic Shortages
Well there certainly seems to be a case of hoarding going on.

I wanted to buy/make a Combat Staff. None are being made because the factory has a shortage of Magic Powder.

Sooooo.....

I go to the magic powder factory. On the Shift Change 7 magic Powders show up and disappear in a second. I had no chance to buy any and I was refreshing the page every couple of seconds.

Sooooo......

Do you think there are any Combat Staffs on the Market?
Answer: No

Answer: No

So we have a high demand weapon unavailable on the market AND unavailable to produce AND requires for manufacture a rare and highly sought ingredient that is also unavailable on the market.

At least with Crystals and Mercury these items are available on the market at slightly inflated prices.

I seem to have no options available to get a battle staff or an essential ingredient to make it; either at production values or at slightly inflated market values.

I don't think it is an unreasonable request for this matter to be looked into.

Cheers
I haven't figured this one out yet. You can't sell magic powder on the market, so who's hoarding it, and why? Is it just an attempt to shut down the game?

Admins should just put 100,000 Magic Powder, Nickel, and Steel in the plants and then slowly pull it out of the markets later. My hoarding tax idea got shot down, but something clearly needs to be done.
the problem with magic powder isn't the fact that people keep it; production is so low, and demand so high, that everything produced is absorbed by the nearby factories (look in blooming glade, you will see already 2 or 3 factories needing magic powder).

The only solution would be to buy huges amounts of mercury to restock the magic farm, then buy the powder to restock east bay.. I did try, but in a day of hard work only got 3 magic powders in the staff factory.

And yes, i bought the last staff in stock, sorry ^^'
The entire issue is the mercury shortage which leads to magic powder shortage which leads to everything that depends on magic powder such as combat staff.

As in my response to your hoard tax topic, hoarding isn't the problem. It is the shortages. And yes, I hoard resources. Why? It isn't to shut down the game or make a profit (can't sell magic powder, nickel, steel on the market anyway). It's so I can sell the resources into the factories so I can work. I had hoarded about 50 magic powders or so about a month ago right before this huge shortage. And then sold about half that back directly into the combat staff factory.

The whole problem is that demand is too high especially with the new rules while supply is too low (no one mining in the right places). I still see players working in the wood places as if we need more wood.

Exactly, the trouble is that the Wages do not adjust to the market value of the good produced. You see, the factories are not economy-conscious. What if it were player-owned though? You'd imagine the owner would step up the wage and set the Mercury prices higher. Of course, that in itself is a monopoly problem since it is the only major mercury producer -.-, but at least, newbies (who are most likely too new to grasp the economy yet) will flock there for the higher wages.

Want to solve part off the mercury problem, move a lab to yellow lake, the sulphur dune is filled with workers (when there is enough money to pay those wages). Switch the blooming glade lab with the yellow lake sulphur dune and there'll be enough workers to get the necessary ammount of mercury without hurting the sulphur production to much (sulphur isn't needed as much as mercury anyway)
can somebody help me....i can't buy mercury at blooming glade

the last figure on facility functioning log shows the units produced right? it doesnt show 19 or 20 >.>
You have to divide it by the time it takes to produce a unit.
