Idea: Instead of using your current faction's skill, you get an option of using a percentage of your skill in another faction to determine your faction level.
Why it's needed: Currently, it is very hard to switch to a completely new faction at higher levels (lv5+). Apart from spending resources to build the new castle, the player would be greatly weakened by their low faction skill. This leads to fewer players switching factions, leading to less freedom for players and less resources being spent.
Impact: One could imagine that some of the skills learnt in one faction are usable in other factions as well. Let's say a Necromancer with 800 faction skill wants to switch to being a Wizard. They could then choose to rely on their necromancer skill to play the wizard faction. Let's say 30% of necro skills is usable for wizards, then their wizard faction level would be as if they had 240 faction points.
When they gain skill points from battles, it would go to their wizard skill, but for as long as they're using necro faction to play, they would have a skill level equivalent to 240 points. Once they reach 240 wizard points, they can switch to playing normally as a wizard.
This would help players that wants to change factions later in the game, without making them as strong as someone that played the faction from the beginning.
Additional ideas:
- Different percentage for different class combinations (a Barbarian switching to Wizard wouldn't be able to count as much of their original skill)
- While using a secondary skill to play your current faction, you wouldn't get the defense bonus against that faction.
- Using more than one secondary faction skill to make up your new one |
