| You will get monks. If you want to have a quick fight, go with one of your weaker units (one recruit, one goblin, etc). That will make the fight quick. You'll still lose the odd bit of gold but you won't have to waste time. |
| No it doesnt once attacked an other lvl 6 he had no recruited troops but when the combat started he had 6 monks |

I am very annoyed that when minding my own business, being a mercenary, merchant etc; I get attacked by a coward thief with many artifacts.
Problem solved! Recruit 0 Creatures. Haven't been attacked so far lol!
It is a pain in the a$$ but still much faster than an annoying battle against a coward and worse... -2 luck if you are afk while travelling. =D
Annoying? You get some free skill points for the damage you inflict + you stillcome out of battle with full health, i just cant see any problem here. |
| I agree with hatred! Don't equip any arts when traveling and then if your not full hp it'll get there for you! Usually a full thief with full arts can kill you before 5 of your turns pass- Demons, Elves, Dark elves, Barbarians.. |
I often have to play in 10minute bursts, having other commitments (work, dependents...) Others agree with me that it wastes time!! Free skill points? Exp?? I get those without trouble.
My frustration is the lack of control over this game. And those with free time to burn may enjoy the meagre "points" afforded by the battles. I didn't use arts yet... if I had my sets on I back myself to WIN. Anyhow I play games for fun in the time I have... This thief thing is NOT fun.

First thing. Recruit one sprite and you are out of problems with wasting time.
Second point: And dont call the thieves cowards, it is harder than you think. If you are so brave, fully equip yourself and beat them. If you are too afraid to fight them, just dont travel, but if YOU are AFRAID why call them cowards?
Anyway if you dont want to fight with real players, try playing normal HOMM..you can have easy hunts and quests there..:-) |

What do you mean by "free skill points"? You get experience, so those skill points are not free!
There is no way left to get "free skill points" after some stupid game upgrade (I mean giving experience in hunt assists).
My definition of "free skill points":
faction skill points without gaining combat experience.
It would be a nice thing if you could really get "free skill points" when you are attacked by a thief.
Then I would become a KILLER OF THIEVES! |
