I've lost plenty of battles playing this game, and normally this does not bother me..
Every duel at 5th level I have fought I have lost. 2 of them quite convincingly
I understand that Lizard cavalry need to move to do the maximum damage.
I understand that Dark Elves need to fight aggressively due to very poor ranged attack (even with Poisoners)
I have tried a distributed spread of recruits, and I have tried focussing on the strongest troops.
Playing aggressively Dark Elves lack numbers to punch thru a defence to get at archers or ranged attackers.
In my last battle (no artifacts) I fought Knights. Their Griffins outnumbered and outdamaged my Lizrd Cavalry. Their swordsmen outnumbered and outdamaged (significantly) my Minotaurs, and rogues were easily dealt with by enemy archers.
At fifth level I know I am playing against clever opponents. I truly feel it is more than just tactics as to why I lost so badly.
