No, it's just based in an area where Euros are the main form of currency. The extra charge in paying in USD or other currencies is based on your form of payment and how the service providers decide to charge you (whether it be your bank, credit card company, etc...).
Some services charge for overseas sales and monetary exchanges; though if it seems more expensive to pay in USD... it's probably just because of the current exchange rate. 1 USD here is worth somewhat less than 1 Euro. |
