AuthorWill cheating kill the game?
I've registered in June and the number of cheaters has been steadily growing. The number of pending cases in the Complaints and Applications is frightening - especially if you consider all threads have been closed less than one week ago!

When I started playing, cheaters' accounts were blocked quickly, most cheaters could not go beyond level 3 or 4. Now, I see that serious violations (mostly illegal money transfers) are made even by level 6 heroes. No longer is a decent combat level a protection against all cheaters around.

And that's the main issue of Heroes of War and Money now IMHO - cheaters just kill the game. Not for me, but for people considering the purchase of Diamonds.

Let's face it: Diamonds are for power-hungry players. The #1 purpose of getting diamonds is to get early creature upgrades. It's no secret. Diamonds are a path to power. But cheating for gold is another. You can't get early creature upgrades, right, but you can have plenty of top-notch artifacts all the time, laugh about durability, and have enchanters implementing bonuses on them.

Heroes of War and Money is a good game, but just an online flash game. The notion of "honesty" and "fairness" doesn't weight much here.

So, imagine a power-hungry player. He's facing two alternatives to rise from the crowd: cheating or spending money. If cheating is not punished properly, which path do you think he will take?

Your thoughts?
I agree, the mods and admins aren't punishing a quarter of all the cheaters, and not even a quarter of the cheaters REPORTED. It's ridiculous.
>>mostly illegal money transfers
what is that?

Most of time, it's when people have multiple accounts and use them to have four or five people working at factories or hunting at the same time, giving all the money they to a single account, the *real* one.
I have to agree with Kotrin all the cheating that is going on is going to kill the game unless Adminitration steps in and starts banning people for cheating. And not banning people from the forums for reporting it and asking Admin to do thier jobs
OR just make gold and item transfers legal in all manners and be done with it.

Not that I agree with the option, it's just something to think about
Lol that's the easiest way to deal with crime!

If all transfers are legal, it means basically one may run dozens of account and make 20'000 gold per day at level one. It means gold becomes so common it's meaningless - unless for the poor honest player wishing to play as the game was designed for, with just one account.

If you want radical solutions, here is another: one IP address, one character. Straight, uh?

But really, nothing would be necessary if punitions were harsh enough and frequent enough. The problem is not cheating by itself - cheaters always existed - but its overwhelming growth. Clearly, potential cheaters see they risk little now... And take action.
If the Adminitration doesnt step in and start banning or blocking all the people cheating they can KISS thier diamond sales goodbye. As No one will buy the diamonds anymore when they can get unlimited cash for nothing. The way it is now some people are turning in the people cheating but nothing is being done about it.WAKE UP ADMIN and do something or your game is going down the toilet

it didn't work that way, using hidemyass will pass through whichever control because it'll allow to change IP. (or using a proxy).

The only think to be done is that, player reports, admins/mods/game police/else check and punish the trasgressors.

No other usefull way ^^

You are correct in there are ways around an IP ban.But the main problem now is that Admin is doing NOTHING AT ALL.I guess they are thing "Ignore it and maybe it will go away"
Im sorry to say the problem is not going to go away till they start dealing with the problem
I like the IP address. Just play one account...or like you can only have one account active every day or something. Of course this won't completely solve it, but it'll help! It's better than doing nothing.
so in a flat situation where five people share an ip only one person in the flat can play this game. that is retarded. don't punish those who follow the rules, punish those who break them.
I play 2 accounts myself but the two accounts do not interact with each other.Drakkon & Dalamar1 are both mine and feel free to look at them both are clean,no trading between them at all.I just like playing 2 factions
Kotrin......Don't think that's cheating....cuz they use the same amount of time to play as well....
Diamonds on the other hand are money.....so....those I really don't knw what to say...but....still they're paying right?
lol in other games i play people are limited to one account per email.why dont we make e-mail conpulsory for making account and limit it to one account per email?

it works for other games.
fake emails... and i have 2 email adresses

and i have 2 little brothers who like to play all my games and they make accounts but they dont have email so they use mine that would hinder me if they did that...

what if it registered the different ip adresses and if 2 different acc got on the same computer then they get blocked from trading or something like that
Hey people, I'm not for the "one IP address, one character" solution, I just presented it to show that a technical approach, albeit imperfect, does exist. But I can't agree more with Neko:

Don't punish those who follow the rules, punish those who break them.

Even better, punish them ASAP - or others will follow their example.
I don't think the e-mail or IP route will work at all. I have hundreds...yes hundreds of e-mails that I could use. You can also get round the IP route easily....

So how about a limit on transfers, I'm sure this would have more effect in stopping cheats. If your only allowed to transfer gold/resources a certain amount of times a week I'm sure that would put off a few cheaters. Why not also limit the amount of Gold by the combat level like in roulette. So if someone has loads of accounts they will have to actually use them fully to be able to transfer a bigger amount.

I doubt most cheaters could be bothered having to play all accounts.

Accounts that are actually getting used should more or less have a big enough combat level to be able to transfer gold for repairs, ally memberships etc etc so this shouldn't be a problem ion most cases.

For the likes of transferring arts, there is no real need to transfer them unless someone is repairing them and in this case it can be set up that it is returned at a certain time unused so this would stop cheats this way aswell.
So how about a limit on transfers, I'm sure this would have more effect in stopping cheats.

It would not stop cheat but hinder them. Worse still, it would be like legalizing cheating: "There is a limit to the amount of gold you can transfer... So if you cheat, you'll be quite harmless anyway. Go on if you wish."

Administrators are rather lenient now - to say the least - with cheats. Do you really think that limited transfers are going to make them more severe against these people? I doubt it.
