Author | -LVL 5- Knights vs Necro- Any Good Tactic? |
The title says it all. |
yes. Firstly, I'd use single archer stacks to "probe" the ghosts. double miss autohit system. Then use the gryphs or swordsmen to whack those and fill the spot. Stand on corpses with gryph or peasantry or the single archers.
try to use rapid, to make sure your swords whack as often as they can. Oh, and expect to lose your archers. Quickly. |
i'd say kill their vamps first because if you let them reach your bowmen they can ressurect a whole bunch from them |
You dont stand a chance... :D |
step 1, get 2 points of your statistics moved.
1 to spellpower
1 to knowledge
Bless on your griffins is more important than 2 points of defense. |
So, I have restored my points, and have now 1 spellpower and 1 knowledge. Now I do as Dreadclaw sad? |
probing ghosts is a must, since knights have no offensive magic. make sure your grif hit the vampire first. once a vampire stack is raised, it is much, much weaker. |
Ive found that getting stacks to half stregth works, dont try to kill a 15 stack ghost but lower it by half, most necro's wont raise a unit at half strength, also 3 stacks of bow men is prefered,to probe the ghosts, remeber your griffens are gold, dont rush with them to fast, but use them to kill the vamps, escort works wonders as well, get a 2 stacks of farmers, recruits to help with retaltion, swords, I tend to rush there bowmen with them. |
If at nekr direct hands and the fifth ability, the knight can surrender. |
wat i saw you should do is get 1 knowledge thats it, don't need 1 spell power .
1. slit bowman into stacks of 1. make sure 2 misses on ghost.
2. bless swordman or griffin attack ghost.
3. your bowman is ganna die quickly. ignore the skele bow right now.
4. ghost should probabaly die, or if not just leave it. if its low the necro will probably res.
5. make another 2 miss with hero or bowman. ( if you kill ghost already don't do this step)
6. kill ghost don't worry about bless.
7. step on ghost. either with griff or swordsman. the vampires with probably go for freeing the ghost. if not hes stupid.
8. if they go for bowman let him. use the other creature ( if griffin go for his skele) if swordsman go for his vampire. kill vampire step on it with griff in they are close together its large creature it can step on both. if not step on it with a bowman if its not dead. if not both of griff and sword should be alive. step on both. keep defending wait till skele archer arrow run out.
9. skele will probably go for you then kill it . |
Once you've done this, you've won:
Destroyed the vampires and the ghosts once with minimal losses, and neutralized the skeletal bows. (either killed them or are standing next to them). raised vamps are weak, strong stack of swords can pretty much kill them in one blow. try to keep your grifs alive, use them to get at the skeletal bows. ghosts, just use the 2 miss hit strategy and hit them with grif or swords. |
Griffins die the first. Slow swordsmen are ignored till the end of fight. At the fifth level the knight - gun meat for nekr. I tell it as nekr.
Destroyed the vampires and the ghosts once with minimal losses
Than? You can think that nekr with 100 skeletons will run in attack? |
I'm a little surpised, that u you all seem to think that the necro will rush the knight. Belive me he will not as (11) pointed out the nec has about 100 bowmens and thus the superiority concerning ranged combat, thus it is the knight who has to rush the nec, not the other way around.
The swords need a full 3 turn to reach the necs line of defense (without moral), so u can guess he will kill any probing stacks you have until you reach him. And also he can raise anything he wants inthese 3 turn as u wont have any units close by to step onto the ghost and if you send your griffins in to do just that, the bows and vamps will kill them period. |
did u all forget about the zombies there are very weak att but with the 17 hp it will take a little while to take them out and if necros have skel bowmen they have alot from what i can see which they will use to kill ur bowmen and if u spilt them they will still die then vamps and ghosts along with the slow zombie will kill all the rush as it will only take a few to stop there skel bowmen from being rushed |
Ranos has a point. Most necros will just defend, since they have the advantage in terms of range.
In terms of strategy, attack with multiple stacks, so you have a shot at corpse camping. Focus on one unit at a time, to force him to ress the same guys over and over again. Be careful with those archers at close range, specially if there's more than 100 of them.
The rest is all about luck. If you get the 1st 2 hits on the ghost, it makes all the difference.
I know it's the wrong type of match, but still, it shows some of the thing you need to worry about, and the luck factor:

Booo ha ha
If given post - discussion of struggle of tactics of two idiots, this fight it is indicative. |
use volley on the skbow and it's protectors. luckily you will kill the protectors with the help of hero. Then fly in your griff on the skbow. The rest of the combat involves multiply swords chopping and ghost reviving. |
A good necro will never ever rush anyone, not even an elf :), except when all of the elven bowmen are dead. And frankly at level 5 when necro gets archers he does not need to rush anyone. |
use volley on the skbow and it's protectors. luckily you will kill the protectors with the help of hero.
And if there is no defender? Simply in an open country there are three small groups of skeletons. If the griffin departs to one of them will receive blow by a direct arrow, at least. Then on blow from the vampire and a ghost. Also there is no griffin. Those on which it itself(himself) has exchanged 30 skeletons, there are only 8 god-sends. |
just get the grifs in line to kill skeletons, and kill protectors with hero and any leftover bows, the best you can do if the ghosts and vamps run to protect is to kill some vampires.
get your swords up ASAP, CHARGE! you want to have everything pressuring as fast as possible. grifs are no good dead in front of skeletons with swords 3 turns away. you don't want to wait to long for the swords either...once the skeletons have finished your bowmen, they will go straight for your griffins. you need to at least get one nice strike in with them, on vamps or bows. if your bows survive in large numbers (how this would happen don't ask me), shoot one protectors down, or volley if you have enough to kill, but then focus on the vampire. there are just too many skellies for attacking them to make a difference. the only way to stop them is too get into melee with them. |
