AuthorHunters Asking For Assistance then going AFK
The assisting hunter should get some form of compensation, when someone asks for help then goes AFK, as I have jsut had this happen to me, and it wasted 20 minutes of my time.

Here is the battle

as I suggested before, their accounts should be deleted.
Making many people quit the game wouldn't help the game and the people who created it, now would it?
3:

why could it make people quit the game? isn't it unfair to punish these afkers who ask for hunting assistant? if they even couldn't be online, why did they ask for help at the first place? Once could be forgiven, but twice or more should definitely be deleted.
if someone got blocked every time that happened, then the maximum number of players would be 500 instead of 1000 and it wouldnt help the people who created it. so u can complain all u want but the administration is definitely NOT gonna block those people.
they should not be banned some people have problems with there computer like i had someheaters running then the iron went on from my sister then all the power went down or some peoples computer turns on and off auto maticly
Deleting their accounts is equivalent to making people quit the game.
The fact is that out of everybody here, a lot have AFKed more than twice, whether for a bad connection, or some other reason.
If all of them got their accounts deleted, than that would make them less willing to play the game, which would mean that less people would be playing the game in total.
Those people could also write of how the game has too harsh punishments, which might make potential players not play the game.
The solution is not to make a harsh punishment, but to make a punishment that will convince the player not to do it again, and make him/her not do it. It's hard to decide what that punishment would be, and it would need a lot of experimenting to find the right punishment (not to lenient, not too harsh), but it would help greatly.
for critical:
for Anyone:
I agree
They should be fined, for like 500 gold
Sorry to the producer of the thread for hijacking the thread.
I agree, that the assisting hunter should get some compensation.
At least the helping hunter should be able to get 0.5 faction points.
That way, even if the hunter who asked for help doesn't help, you still get all the faction points that you deserved, if you win.
If you lose, then, the loss should be recorded on the hunter's character page only. (If this already is happening, then disregard that.)
You can't really do anything about this though, and something should be done.
I agree with engisgh, though, maybe a fine would help.

that was not afk, i still in front of keyboard, i just can not play... :-(

I don't see any suggestion you could give. If they are afkers, why do you care about how many of them are playing this game? Afkers are afk, they are ruining game.
So you believe the game should help them fix their internet instead?

if your connection is bad, and you have to wait, I can understand this case. But for the people ask for hunting assistant, then they turned out afkers, they should be punished very harsh.
for dougdandan:
Afkers are afk, they are ruining game
The more people online (it doesnt matter if its AFKers or not) the more money the people who made the game are getting . so it doesnt matter if they are ruining game.if they are online, then its better for the admins. thats how it works)))
AFKers already get -2 to luck for an hour when they AFK. And there is no real way for any of us to tell if the person is actually AFK or if they are having connection problems. The person may have had every intention of completing the battle when *poof* their router hiccups and they lose their connection. Or maybe something happened to the computer or the power went out. You really have no way to know. And seeing from experience (my fiance has internet problems) he gets pretty upset when he is in battle and his computer messes up somehow. He does his best to get back into the game in time to not AFK, but if he doesn't make it - he gets really upset because of the bad luck. Do I like when people AFK? No. But there really isn't anything that can be done about it so I just accept it.
how about they get banned if they go afk 3 times in 1 day or somthing like that
why does everyone keep talking about punishment. Punishment doesnt work at all. It never does. Most of these games are being played by kids who dont think about the consequences of their actions so punishment is not the solution.

Start thinking about other options to resolve this issue.
- Like opening up the forum and the market during battles. That will allow people to do other things while they are waiting.
- Another option would be to reduce the timer. Nobody needs over 3 minutes to think about their first move. Reduce that to 1 minute and it will minimize total waiting to a maximum of 9 minutes.

Or reward the other people if someone goes AFK. I know this can be abused.
- Going AFK during hunt means kill like normal but the hunt is taken over by the remaining player. Whoever remains will receive points as if it was a solo hunt.
- +1 luck for 1 hour if you have been the victim of an AFK player.
personally i agree, punishment doesn't help much when people don't care about said punishment
to 16: For the administrators it is not that hard to see if someone is just AFK or if their computer is gone. When they are AFK they will keep receiving signals to update the chat.

oh, and btw Necros get an additional punishment when they go afk. Their entire stack of skeletons is killed from the reserve. I dont think that is fair either. If necros have to pay with gold, so should other factions.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
