i have spoken on the no-workaround stategies of heroeswm and I will continue to speak about it as long as it exist....although the talent thingy helps A BIT...
still.... i believe nobdy can argue the battle has not a slight chance of victory in 1 million try. |
Some simple reasons:
1. You didn't use reserv. Why? this is your racial ability
2. Wizard didn't have rather good mini-artifacts
3. Elfs were in arts..
So, if you used reserv, if wizard had good mini-artifacts and if you both had artifacts you could win |
there is a chance though...
well..this is my point of view..
more skel archers will do more good..zombies in stacks are bad ideas againts elves..skel archers in stacks...its annoying...i..as an elves admits it...no luck on the ghosts though ;p
for the mage...there's really nothing much to do on the mage..still..there is somethng...when fighting on elves...BOWMENS 1st!..ignore the druids..bowmens deals a hell lot more damage...and with less hp too..the gargoyles...BAD MOVE..a bit reserve...ur arts is needed..heroes arts should finish of all the low hp dmg king 1st..play resevely so that heoes can live longer to cast more arts...thats what all mages should do...(if the bowmen is neautralized at least)
well..thats just my opinion..
maybe its not enough to win..but maybe it is enough...

this time around we nuked the bowmen as far we could....
trust me.. no chance... 2v2 with anyone who use a quarter brain but uses elf will win no matter what the result... at least at lvl 5.
You guys know what contributes the most to the no-win scenario?
1) we don't get to choose army according to what enemy we're facing. How'd u gonna put in gremlins when u don't know u're fighting against elf? Elfs joined last.
2) Raised troop are not at the ATB Bar. The only start moving the next turn. Which is plain dumb. So with 12 druids on the opposite side. they can take down any entire stack on any turn they want. I don't see the logic of magi having lesser hp than druids.
Note that oysar from the 2 games have not only initiative mini-art but also HP miniart of Magi.
Why I don't bring skeleton? Coz they go down in only a few zaps ( or archer shot ) and then u dont have it anymore. Coz you meet with 2 elves. you lose.. no matter if u have 3000 skeletons.. they'll probably still zap you to 0.
To those who still think Arts would make a diff to us, well,it's pobably gonna save u few extra hp every turn I agree. Given a chance I would love to prove this poin, It's hard to exactly factor in the benefits of the art.. but LET'S SAY assuming the I have cheatcodes to add ANOTHER stack of ghosts or vampire,and my ally another 16 golems, now count the dmg they deal, minus the lightning. ONE SINGLE turn they can wipe out ONE entire stack at least... or both stack.
The thing is... if you meet 2 elves, who doesn't go AFK and knows how to use a mouse properly.. you might as well forget about winning. I've won many times against other races with art, so go around saying "Oh no ART No ART". You can equip all the arts you want.. meet 2 elfs... say bye bye to your art durability |

You gotta be prepared for everything, including elves =)
Again, no shooters on your side, really, and the mages troops need more miniarts. HP for mages is great, but not enough...
Maybe the wisard should've used spikes from the beginning on the split bowmen, and I still think you should've brought reserve.
Still, switching to elves for a bit of antiskill might help, as well as playing cards to the point of getting free +luck drink.

dude, u can rezz ur skeleton bowmen, and i've seen games where the skeleton bowmen just can't be killed bcuz u can just keep on rezzing them, even if every unit of elf attacks it. then the elf run out of ammo, and u kill them w/ superior melee troops |

it was a random battle, when i saw we were against 2 elves, i thought we were surely doomed... i had the best of the arts, but even mine were the basic ones - nothing impressive. leathers and the reprisal + blue shield. and a luck thingy, but that hardly ever triggered. and it looked like my guy was AFK to start with - the placement counter went ALL the way down, so i had my usual little moan to start with...
turned out things went much better than i could have hoped tho. check the battle. he had 1 masterstroke which nailed the enemy elves, but other than that, we just squarely gave them a decent strategic beating.
making sure only 1 set of the elves can get "near shots" is a good idea - advance vs 1 elf or the other, not both at the same time. had we managed our victory with no arts, it would have been more worthy of note. but yeah, i place it here for consideration either way. there is always hope. :) |
