AuthorNecromancer - too powerful
The necromancer army is made too powerful. Considering that they have both ghosts which miss 50% of the time, and then resurrection, it makes it nearly impossible to defeat these army types. I have tried multiple strategies and more than not I am defeated (not due to dumb play but because I am simply outnumbered and outpowered).

I am suggesting a decrease in either the MISS% of the ghosts or fewer returns for the resurrection spell.
I looked your last battle.. just laughing.. sorry

first read this http://www.heroeswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1832862

and some little tips:
try to defeat zombies at first
don't come too near with ghosts to rogues..
if you aren't sure, that you will hit ghosts with your powerfull stack - wait and attack them with wea stacks until there are 2 misses..
if there are two hits with weak stack it is good idead do cast magic on ghosts to nullify the nimber of hits/misses..
thanks for the info guys
1: change fraction asap cause after entered perks Dark Elf are losers
Necros are strong, but not so good.U can change your race to daemons and if u have had 9 from 10 battles to necro u will win. Also attack ghosts with your archers and get 2 misses,so u can 100% kill ghosts in 1 attack, they have only 8 hits.
elf is the most powerfull race in the game 100 % wining in otcher race in 5 lev of corse :)
Inferno mage is the key to victory :)

Or simple mage :p
100 % wining
not 100% there are things called group battles and elves are always the first ones to be taken out, then the game is imbalanced to favor the elf's enemies... and this is a forum chat about necros being too powerful, not elves... go up like 7 forum inqueries and you'll find the elfs too powerful forum, post there and stop tryin to make elves sound like they are overpowered... the game is about intelligence, not just running out there and going YIPPEE aww I lost... must be imbalanced faction!
I however agree with the previous statements on Necromancer, especially on Level 3 fighting.

The Ghosts do far too much damage to justify a ****50%**** Miss Rating, 8 hits or not.

As a barbarian, they have only 2 less hits than a Wolf Rider, and 4 less than Orcs. Combined with the massive Zombie hits, it's a terribly hard combo to defeat, once which I have never defeated yet.

any hints that aren't garbage?
Split up your orcs, fire a little at them and see if you miss or hit, time that up with a suicide-goblin and follow up with a double-strike from the wolves. Then finish it up by placing some sort of troop there. (Perhaps your main Orc-pile? Or anything else you might have, except the double-striking wolves...)
The fire at will at the slow and lame zombies, and pound on them repeatedly with the wolves.
Okay, I play with necros. I sometimes win, I sometimes lost. Sometimes is may fault losing, sometimes is fault of teh other player. Tips for winning? Don't know, i just can tell you info about necros. The way you use it, it's your decission.

Resurrect:
Resurrect is the main hand of dead army, as far as I know (i don't have more spells). It cost nine mana points and it resurrect power is obviously related to the spell power. So, before enter a combat youc an know how many times the necro can resurrect and how powerfull it will be. Anyway, it resurrects depending on life points; on this way, normally the entire stack of ghosts could be resurrected, but not the zombies. but, each time the spell is casted, the unit lose some health points. So, if the necro resurrect the ghosts the new ghost only have 6 HP, and 4 the next time. If you focuse on time with a powerfull stack it could be easy to kill (if you don't miss, either way)

Zombies:
Yes, they're hard as hell to kill based on his high HP rate and defence, but their too slow and don't make much damage (if not enraged). It's a good idea try to kill this stacks first, or reduce it numbers soon on the battle, because for one stack dead, al the zombies' stacks win +1 to attack power, due to a maximun of +4 (so take care about this, many necros have 4 stacks of one skeleton just for this)
And the are slow as ice, so if you have high speed creatures you can avoid them and, perhaps, kill'em with your hero or magic. Anyway, don't think this is cowardly, it's just using the disadvantages at your favour.
I have win some battles against elves (combat level three for the two of us) just defending with the zombies till the other players have no more arrows and then charging.

Stacks:
Remember each creature can just counterattack once per turn, kill zombies could be easy using this, and for killing ghosts more stacks imply that you can use the "two hits or two misses" at your favour, just think about that.

Stats:
The stats can change the battle entirely, is not the same figth against someone with too much spell power that figthing against hig attack / defense
Use the knowledge of the stats. The hero's stats and the creatures stats. eg: If a creature have low HP, low defensive power but great attack power (like ghosts) you should attack them first, instead, low attack power means you can don't worry to much who attack first (anyway, in this game, is usually better attack first because of the retaliation happens after the creatures die, nor like in HOMM4)

Bows:
Bows could destroy an entire army of undead if well used, specially in combat levels 1 and two, when there are no ghosts.

Conclusion:
Overpowered? Well, we sometimes win, we sometimes lost, it's all related to the hability and to the luck of each hero.

Why i tell you this? well, I know most of you already know everything of this, and others would discover it in no much time, so i elieve is not "top-sectret" and, for me, this game is enjoyable by trying different strategies, and then change it again for winning. This makes the game fun! So, if I tell you how to win me, I must think harder for winning you. Remember that the best teacher it's your enemy, because he has no mercy and he just want to win. Use each figth for increasing your estrategy and knowledge, and became a great figther
I forgot!

If you place a stack in the place where a stack of the undead have died, the hero can no resurrect that stack. Think about that and use the initiative bar to know when the necro will have tourn and wich creatures could you move to that spot
and they can raise .wenn you kill ghoust put a strong warrior in that place where the ghoust died
Wait till you see the drain life, no retaliation vampires:p
skunder ok then they must decreases the multiple shot of archers and the douple hit of the wolf riders is it fair for who like elfs or barbarians i think no every team have their own specail abilities no team is more powerful than another team you can use different tactics its always help with me when i use different tactics
Romiah +1
Romiah but they compenstate that for example wolves have very weak defence.
Very weak defense and large creature and very low hp
and an attack that can kill all ghosts in one turn if succesful
If successful, the counter might kill off half or all the wolves:)
