AuthorMod salaries -Fair?
for Hapkoman:
Bro, are 9 translators really needed to translate 3-4 items every month? :D
2 of which are copy-paste donation sale xD
for virtual_vitrea: so you used to be one and after you made your profit from it all of a sudden it is a bad thing and needa to be changed?? ok bruh. If you think it is too unfair then send all the gold you earned back to empire and be done with it. but you wont and it proves my point.

There are 2 news translators -> Hapkoman and Tanisia.
Celestica translates artifacts.

Merlin, Crossman, and Arcanide are editors.

That's the team ATM basically. And even then we aren't available 24/7 so the more the merrier to translate in time :))

Btw donation news is auto, it does not get translated.

So in a way, if one of them isn't available to translate/edit whenever it comes, they still get paid? :P
for Sage Jiraiya:
Sure, at least in my country it's below minimum wage anyway xD I don't find it to be a problem on the wage part. Sure some are inactive and they should be not paid anymore but ones that are around still put in the labour worth :p

Play clan pvp, earn gold. Atleast you'll have fun playing xD
Translators are always going to be needed. I do not want to be in a situation where we have shortage of them. Better to have excess there. Sage Jiraya's point about translations not being timely is a valid point though but I do not think you can say it is entirely upto the translators because they cannot independently trigger the announcements.

for slayerofall:
Your insinuation is what I would classify as abject folly. So you're saying I made a profit from it which I loved enough to keep it all, but suddenly stopped liking the profit, so I quit? While still keeping the said profit afterward? Isn't that too dense, even for you?

Or you still think, that having this job and income is some holy grail of sorts that makes people like me jealous? Even though I told you I quit it myself. You even likened it to having a successful real-world job. Oh Brother. Each thing you've said shows your delusion and lack of foresight.

Yes it's fun until your boss brings you to their office and fires you for the hour long toilet breaks you do lmao
translations not being timely
Would be awesome if we could get translations a day before or even a few days before rather than on the day :D There just isn't enough trust for it. Maybe someday, we'll see.
for virtual_vitrea:
did you or did you not benefit from this 50k a month while you were a mod?

did you have a problem with it when you were making the fre gold? or did you only have an issue with it AFTER you were no longer getting said free gold :)

i rest my case.
for slayerofall:
You're too simple to understand that your argument holds no water. Nobody can prove how I felt about it back then. But it can be proven what I said about leaving. For whatever reason I chose to leave is of no matter now. What you're trying to imply is disrespectful.

I raised the question -if inactive moderators getting huge salaries was fair besides other things that came up later, such as how to make it possible for everyone to get a chance to apply for the job. All you've done here so far is to make it personal. Message me privately if all you love to do is fighting me.

Time to quit such a job
"Sometimes I wanna give my gold away to the struggling players who cannot donate for gold. Should the Empire do more? I don't suppose anything will change"

There are limits for transfers intended as gifts. Gifts from a grantor to any particular player must not exceed 10,000 gold * [Combat level of the grantor] + 250 * [Diamonds obtained by the grantor through donations] per month.

if you wanted to help people go right ahead, without counting diamonds you can gift anyone 180000 gold PER month and still be in rules if you so wish.
for slayerofall:
Nice try of deflecting to another stupid argument. I'm curious. Why do u think I left? You keep saying I only had an issue afterwards. How do you explain the hole in your own logic?
I will answer some of the questions/remarks, cause I believe we have always been honnest. It's a lot of texts, oops.

Arcanide, I'm sorry to say this but how are you getting 100k?! Spill the beans, if you will. To me, that's another surprise. I thought it was capped at 50k per month, but apparently not.

You are free to ask, and I am happy to explain this transparently. In 2021, I was invited to join clan 6000 because Jana needed an extra person at that time. In the years that followed, many team members left or became inactive, which is when I, along with the help of Merlin, took on this task alone for several years. When SirReal joined, he even created a post to recruit for clan 6000. So I do not understand why you think there is no transparancy. Nobody accepted, so I asked in several chats for new candidates and found them.

I think many here do not understand the work of clan 6000. It may seem like there are "many people" involved, but you also need to be able to adapt at any time of day. If the admin decides to launch an event in half an hour, you and your team have just half an hour to get everything ready (what if you are sleeping? You want .com to just wait till you wake up?). So when I read that the news translation seems like a Google Translated thing anyway I am truly disappointed that you do not recognize the efforts of the current team.

We love the translators here. You guys do a good job. But Google Translate is only one layer. Add further AI tools to refine and proofread, and it gets much easier. I have a friend who does translating, not this game but it includes Russian too. He makes little edits here and there for more polish. It is not a time-consuming process anymore with all the tools available.

From 2018 to 2021, the text was thrown into Google Translate by a Russian player (who received 150k btw for doing this), and that was how it was launched. Afterwards, we (the editors) made that text readable, ensuring it matched the storyline and used the correct terminology. There is no tool that understands the long-standing terminology, the characters, or the specific words we need to use. For example, ChatGPT might translate "thieves" as "bandits," but we actually use "outlaws." Furthermore, everything must be 100% accurate according to the storyteller’s wishes. Do you think it’s just a matter of translating and passing it along? You’d be surprised at how many comments the team receives regarding word choices, sentence structures, meanings, and so on. There’s a lot more to it than you might think.

Hapko is still quite modest because with just 4 hours a month, that certainly isn’t enough—especially when there’s a big event, FFA, or something similar. For all the years I have done this, receiving credit for it is something that rarely happens. That is also a downside of being part of clan 6000. Additionally, we (clan 6000) have no impact on when news is published. We do what is asked of us; the only one who can post is Lexa.

The mod selection process is cryptic and not at all transparent to the players.
This has bothered me in the past. There was a time I wanted to be a mod (and I really disliked some existing mods for their over-moderation), but there was no avenue to do so.

This has changed over the years. In the past, the forum was vibrant, and there were regular selection interviews for new moderators. Now that there’s less activity, the process has shifted. When I notice that not much is happening on the forum (or if I am to bussy), I ask Lexa for someone new. Over the past few years, I’ve received several inquiries from players wanting to become moderators; some didn’t pass the vetting process, while others were moderators for only a short time. This has always been handled very transparently, even though I haven’t actively promoted it on the forum (that part is true, im sorry).

Keep in mind that there are no clear rules or agreements in place here. I sometimes try to convince the sheriff of certain matters, but that doesn’t mean it’s always possible.
bump, why did the conversation end?
for Ridrich:
maybe because you've been watching the drama instead of posting a thing? :)

In all seriousness, the conversation can only go on until people have something to say. We don't have to force it.
however, this is something that has been going on for years and unfortunately won't change easily

its literally a game and it can be changed/fixed in a couple of clicks.
I'm pretty sure Arcanide didn't have technical limitations in mind.
they are aware of the problem and there are no technical limitations, yet its posed like some sort of a giant unsolvable thing thats been an issue for years.

just say it like it is "nobody cares to perform those 2-3 clicks and fix it"

its not like youre accountable for it, you wont get fined or punished. just say it like it is, dont bs.
