When I was working for arctic on juries I was told that auction transaction were fine as long as auction was for a long enough period that the server community could bid if they wished so when it finally sold it was the market price.
It was only illegal if someone linked to the seller bought item (or resold it via inventory transfer to someone linked to the seller etc.).
It is easy to click on link and see the start and end date of an auction and as 3 days is max allowed it is legal. If it was put up for 30 mins when the server was very quiet admins may consider it differently.
Even if the buyer gets a very good deal I cant see admins giving a punishment though the buyer could always send some more gold to the seller after auction ended if they wished & it was within amounts they were allowed to gift. | | Just pick the lot ;) | i dont think this is illegal. it totally our mistake if we missed that auction.
and trade forum rules also not allows us to advertise an auction.
most dont buy or sell Enchanted arts with profits. and Elements rate are not fixed too. | To the best of my knowledge, it is not illegal unless it can be proven that there was a pre-arranged agreement as to price and using the auction to cover up.
A 3-day auction is not illegal if the price is too low as anyone else can easily come in and bid higher. But a 3-day auction that goes too high IS illegal. Selling a wood for 1 million gold over a 3-day auction is obviously illegal.
In the end, it's the motive behind it that counts. If you can prove or suspect that there was any manipulation of the auction market by multiple parties to laundry illegal gold transfer, then the auction, regardless of price and duration, would be illegal. | as i mentioned in my previous post, it will be based on admin judgment whether it is consider as finance support or not.
of course, you were lucky if you didnt get caught after someone report you; no matter you are doing that intentionally or not.
BUT, dont yell while you get penalty for that IF admin think it is finance assist. you wont be able to argue that someone didnt get block for same reason because the rules were stated clear. |
