maybe ladon is good on this kind of battle, but not rebel fight.in a lv15 battle, enemy de units hurt from ladon only 70% compare to hurt from guarduan or apparations.any de or bar units will never be best unit here.they have born disadvantage. |

As per guin's #21 post you see that even for rebels it's almost the same thing. What even gives ladons that long term advantage? It is the shrews and your teammates' stacks who do damage to the enemy and take damage from the enemy.
Just imagine the AI targeting ladons first instead. If they did that, then ladons would do 0 damage while shrews would do tons of damage. This is like teamwork. |
I think this forum is about Worst and Best unit (per faction) in THIS event!
So:
for guin: in rebel fight DE was not the best choice i agree, but in terms of classifying units within DE faction (usable for Event) i still stay for ladons, while shrews are useless
for Pantheon:
Sure its a teamwork, shrews take damage first, while team mates' units survive
Shrews won't do a tons of dmg since they simply die at very start.
Ladons: they get raged, six headed attack - more dmg since more targets, regeneration and tons of hp -> survive
Also regarding team work: did u see some well buffed (rapid, bless first of all) Ladons in battle -> while inspire (knight talent) could help them a lot also... |
what guin meant is-
If enemy left shrews and damaged ladons, then the few ladons would deal very low damage while shrews would deal tons of damage. Casting spells on ladons is more useful bcause there would be a few shrews left. Else if rebels concentrated on other units than shrews, it would be better to cast holy spell on shrews. |
Guards with suport of clerics(rapid, blees, even stneskin). One strike...one kill (one dead stake)-- |
for RicHunter:
this topic is for all creature players can use,not every faction.
so ladon is never the best, low ini and 30% discount damage while facing dark elf enemy.
even shrews are better than ladons, because they can absorb damage.only 10 more will hit by 2x thunderbird.these crazy bird would destroy almost any full recruit troop by 1 hit with lightning.but they will attack shrew if they can reach shrew.their exist can cover allies, die for allies as my archlich always do.enemy barbarian hero will hit stun blow on them if I raise some archlich.
their sacrifice will lead the team to victory.their sacrifice isn't meaningless,or you have no chance to move your lizard assailants or dragons. |
You are right guin!
- since i toke also 31 shrews (split) and absorbed dmg or simply blocked birds/rocs from valuable units to aid my team.
From this point of view i would say my minos (i toke 62) was MY most useful unit, since it could kill any dangerous unit in one hit (second hit of mino soldiers was barely needed) while bravery bursted them a lot.
Also they were a living-shield tank, since they were also a favored target in later waves....
So: "since this topic is for all creature players can use"
I say guardians were the most useful unit, while grand master bows were the worst (they hardly get chance for one single shot and lasted not long to be a living-shield) |
in my opinion,
best offensive unit is ladon. strong attack, regenerate, and 6 tile attack.
best defensive unit is guardian. good hp, can kill large stack, and not priority target from enemy shooter. also, large shield and shield allies make less damage taken from enemy shooter. |
I found guardian totaly worthless in this event, every time I played with a knight it was a full defens build and guards dealt low damgage. And because they are so slow all dangerous units had to be reduced before they (guards) got their turn again, so usually yes they survived long time but did little else then slowly walking over the field and removing stacks of little importance.
And the feat to be the last man standing, just to die then swiftly is no big plus for them either.
In my opinion genies where a nice unit since they always took lots of damage relatively high priority target and wiz could almost raise the full stack to have them back in next wave, thus saving lots of other valuable units. |
All this "they are good because they aren't attacked" just shows a level of selfish thought and poor team play. Something will be hit.
Saying that, Shrews and Cerbs are poor, as they have low hit points for a troop of their level, so they get attacked early and get messed up. It's better getting the higher HP troops.
EFKs and GMBs also suffer from this. They can hit like a truck, but they have such low Hit Points they'll have 1 attack and then be gone. |
