Author | many players leaving the game |
for ZioBlade:
Sorry you had such a tough time. While I fared way better in your list of steps through the game, I went through other noobish problems. | 8. You realised that MQ could get you the elements for enhancements so you began doing them. Similar to stage 2 to 4, you realised that MQ gets tougher but you continued to work harder.
9. You finally got sick of battles and went to tavern to play card games.
10. You keep repeating the whole process like what Flour said in post 13.
Hunt, Enroll, tavern, MQ, wait for the troop to recover, resource-selling...
You find the going gets tougher and you keep losing. After some time, u find it annoying, boring and frustrating. Who likes to go on a losing streak like
11. You know events are rare here but there is nothing you can do. Try to go on forum to ask for more events but there are always some guys with the "stop whining" tag asking you to stop doing that.
12. Soon, you got sick of your once beloved LWM game. | What I have typed is more of a summarised life-cycle of what player may have encountered in LWM. O.o It may not be complete but just showing part of the journey I guess. It is a response to Pantheon's question below:
If there were no updates when people started, then why do they want it now they have leveled up? | Sorry you had such a tough time. While I fared way better in your list of steps through the game, I went through other noobish problems.
Seriously, I am not whining but my apology if I have made you think so. Just trying to open your "eyes" so you can find the answers to your question. | Without events this game is terribly boring. Enroll, hunt, travel to YL... IMHO it only sucks up your life time and serves only your addiction.
Of course I'm lying: It's one of the coolest things on earth to be a level 14 wizard in LWM. You can tell your grand-children about it, you get a strategic mastermind through it, you will have a prosperous life.
But it's even cooler if you are level 15 and have T7 creatures. Hundreds of online players will admire and worship you. You will have a whole new perspective of the sense of life if you are at this point. And - last but not least - you can play the big guy in forum and tell level 10 players about how worthless their opinion compared to your sheer power!
Once any of you whiners reach T7 creatures in your mighty armies then I'll accept your opinion...
Until then shhhhh...
Have I already told you? You get a better human if you finally have reached level 15. Now shut down the forum and get back to work, players!
/sarcasm off
I will soon become one of this players with workaholic-penalty-must-win-fight basics and just wait for events. Because IMHO the events are the only cool thing in this game. | @25
It's not about CL, it's about experience...
I registered over 30 months ago and still can find fun factor in this game...
How can someone who registered 2 months ago and enrolled 250 times give perspective about LWM???
It is a service as it is. Like it, enjoy it... Don't like it, it's your choice...
There is plenty of things to do in your life instead of LWM...
Kissy-kissy-huggy-huggy...
P.S. If you enrage me, I'll unleash Shaocan on you... | They should just reduce prices for thief invitation to a reasonable level after they removed TG 4 thief invite. | How can someone who registered 2 months ago and enrolled 250 times give perspective about LWM???
You only need to have a look at the forum from time to time or ask older players to know what's going on. You really don't need so much brain or experience for this.
P.S. If you enrage me, I'll unleash Shaocan on you...
Who's this? Your imaginary friend who commands you to write stuff like Kissy-kissy-huggy-huggy? | i just think the TG change was stupid. LG wasnt too great either, but the TG change was awful =( | While I might not agree with the TG changes, I believe something needed to be done. The previous TG situation was bad. TGI prices would have went down to 0.
As for everyone who's sick of the game, I have to ask why now? It's not like everyone joined and only played when events were around. Many joined, played, and stayed around when there were no events (which was most of the time).
Events are cool, but they don't make the game. | I jusy got the workaholic penalty. It makes sense to power down during breaks between events. The last one was really intense.
A break gives a chance to buy some arts for the next one and do other things online and off. I'm still ok with the game but have now seen the sense of taking a rest. No-one can be at full power all the time.
The numbers playing seem much the same to me as when I started this time last year. | for Rilin:
You make a good point about resting and preparation. Events and battles require arts and gold. Many prepare by building up faction resist, getting enchants, saving gold, etc.
I find that many of the same people who complain about the lack of events also complain about the cost of the events when they do come. | I find that many of the same people who complain about the lack of events also complain about the cost of the events when they do come.
Lol, exactly :) | @30:
My personal summary:
I'm not sick of the game, I'm bored of it. I'm not one of the players who are here since beginning.
Since I was aware of coming events, my only goal was to play in them. I never was a friend of farming or gold hoarding, I just tried to have good stats to be successful in events. Some PvP, maybe a high tournament ranking here and there.
There is not much to do anymore here for me beside waiting. PvP's pretty dead, tournaments got boring, no events in sight until Arctic comes back.
After the Grand Update I gave up to catch up with older players with multiple enchanted arts. I'm still lucky that I had my TG entry before the update.
So: Endgame for me, if there are no frequent events. I'll get next MG and faction level, then I will play very, very casual.

I can understand the frustation of newer players than me pretty well.
-> Some features nearly unavailable which are normal to older players:
TGI, enchanted weapons, multiple castles.
You can't compete with older players, if you don't want to enroll and farm for years. And why should a new player do this, if he doesn't love the game from the very beginning?
-> Arrogant people in the game.
You come to forum, ask something what seems to be a bit nooby, maybe complain about something. Wait maximum 1 hour and you have the first hostile or mocking comment of an older player. "Go away, if you don't like it", "You're a whiner" and so on...
And most of older players don't care. They have their stuff, they are long enough in game, negative changed don't hurt them.
"Thanks a lot, I leave you alone, there are other games" would be my answer as a new player.
This game isn't newbie-friendly at all, many people get more elitist the higher level they get and I guess we don't have to talk anymore about the attention by admins. | many people get more elitist the higher level they get
I couldn't agree more with this!
And my 2 cents question to them is: how much brain does one need in order to consider him(her)self an elite in a virtual game?... | for Nutella:
My post was directed at those who are sick of the game and start complaining about the server despite of any changes. While many of their complaints are valid, most of them aren't new. These issues have been around ever since they started playing.
And yes, I'm one of the older players, got my TGI before the changes, have enchanted weapons, and multiple castles. But if I had started playing later, I still would have most of these things.
How can I say that?
-I've lost over 200k gold by lending to those who didn't return
-I've lost a TGI to a scammer. (so no extra TGI compared to new players)
-I've lost 100k gold on the purchase and sale of my TGI. (so I didn't gain from the TGI price increase).
-Elements / Enchanting changes? I lost heavily there too since I paid several times the current market price for my elements.
I have to say that older players do have advantages but it's not like new players can't play. Too many low level players with low LG complain how they can't do full art battles all the time. This is plain dumb. The game has and does require substantial enrolling and the use of min arts. Except with heavy donation, no one can easily buy estates, use full arts every battle, multiple castles, do smithing and enchanting, and have enchanted arts.
It doesn't matter whether you are new or old to the game. As long as you enroll, use min arts, and exercise sound judgment you will be able to play the game. | And yes, I'm one of the older players, got my TGI before the changes, have enchanted weapons, and multiple castles. But if I had started playing later, I still would have most of these things.
I'm sure you would. But that's not the case for everyone. Not everyone has the time to enroll, hunt, do MG, etc. | AS LORDS , WE R LACK OF WARS N MONEY !
we hav nothing to do except hide ourselves in woods ! | It's the lack of events and tournaments that's slowly draining the server population.
It is simply too boring to hunt, labor, thief and do ST over and over and over.
+ 1000
+ 250
It turns into grinding for me, and if it's just grinding, I can find a non-web based game with better graphics to grind on (w00t, did someone mention Final Fantasy??) | 36:
It's not about getting a profit from a TGI, its about getting it in the first place. Now that it costs >1kk to get a TGI, its virtually impossible for a "normal" player to get a TGI until a higher level (unless they buy diamonds). By normal, I mean that they don't just enroll all the time and only do combats to get rid of workaholic penalty. |
