^^ At same online time, lords want to enter CG maybe have to wait more than 1-2 hours. Once again, This isn't about encourage thief hunting in any way. Just rough suggestion, ambush and CG mechanism can be changed if they're mean to be thief and anti-thief. |

if I get ambushed by a thief, it is a fight I did not want to participate in. Therefore, I think it would be nice to get something for wasting my time. |
Maybe thieving could have some sort of double tracking too, from some TG level :-) To choose whether to attack caravan or player ;-)
Because thief ambush is a very problematic thing from another poit of view. Nor thief neither victim chooses that fight. And mostly neither of them want it :-) I remember being that lvl 6-10 player travelling with min art still being ambushed. It was really making me angry that I had to fight when I didn't plan to and that I was losing with min art all the time. So one day I decided to start travelling with full arts. Since then I am really looking forward to meeting a thief.

+1 its a good idea and its harder to beat a thief than win a duel cos of poisition
however, to gain cg points you need to wear loads of AP worth of arts,, this isnt the case with ambush defence .. |

my point is that nothing stops you going round in min arts and gaining cg points really cheaply |

Not above 11 when most people travel full arted to meet thieves in steel set/min AP.
No Omega they don't. I finished chasing for TG 5 at level 13 and fully-arted victims were very few and far between.
The rationale is simple: if their are guild points awarded for thieving from someone, why not have points awarded for defeating a thief?
When people complain about thieves the reply is always 'it's a part of the game, deal with it', now the boot is on the other foot and it's the thief who complains! |
^^22: For now, maybe i only do LG but this suggestion could be tweaked to balance both commander and thief, for example less/no hour penalty if lose in PvP or can't meet same thief/24 hour etc. |

29 just ambushed another full arted "victim" checked his combat log was already third for just this day. tell me what can prevent him catching another 10 thiefs today? I dont understand some ppl are just blind to see truth *shakeshead* |
#32 'Truth' is obviously a subjective thing here.
As I said, I experienced very few fully arted victims at level 13. If this aggravates you in some way, not my problem but that's how it was for me.
So the counter-argument to my idead is basically this:
Thieves should be allowed to thieve at leisure and should be rewarded for doing so, whilst people should not be encouraged to defend themselves and should certainly not be rewarded for doing so.

You must earn CG points in fair battles. Experienced thiefs use min.AP or steel set while "thief hunters" use full arts, sometimes with enchants(for having 100% confidence in victory), so this type of "battle" is completely unfair. |

1. No risk of loosing at all u can only catch thief or nothing no other options . since u know what to expect u can prepare for it better. wearing enchants or thief set = garanteed win no other type of combat has this kind of guarantee to win since difficulty wont ever raise.
2. u get much more xp and SP since hunts quest all have xp and SP cap.
3. even if u win just with few units left no problem u got 100% hp and u can catch another thief in a minute no more waiting for hp or for group combat to start.
thats just 3 good rewards no other combat type has. |

A thief gets XP, FSP, gold and points towards higher initiative and a powerful art set.
A victim gets XP and FSP, or loses gold.
Still, the bottom line for the arguments so far against my suggestion remains the same: theives should be encouraged and rewarded, whilst people should not be encouraged to fight thieves and should not be rewarded for doing so.
What a strange place this empire is!

I didn't expect to hear such question from player who have 5 TG.
If you really don't know: thieving in full arts(and enchants) is money wasting.
In most cases thief get a caravan. Strength of caravan increased if you win and decreased if you lose. So both players(min.AP and full arts thieves)in perspective will have the same win/lose ratio, but full arts thief will get this ratio later(win more caravans) and spend much more money then min.AP thief :) |
