Magma sword looks good
Isn't it bad ?
Gives units +20% earth damage
4% ini is a good boost, magma is pure rusher set, so definitely looks good for an elf etc

so you are telling me that trading 20% melle damage for 20% earth elemental damage is worth? better check your multiplicative math scalings again because my math shows it is much worse overall.

They’ve changed the bonus

Magma set already gives highest attack and ini stats with 5 arts when compared to other sets, sword alone gives 10 attack 4% ini without any bonus.

you don’t need no math to know there is no trading, take it at a complete set.

At 6 arts magma gives -
28 attack + 26% ini
Imperial -
18 attack + 23% ini
Dark -
24 attack + 22% ini
Heaven -
27 attack + 23% ini

After that, the magma sword gives highest ini compared to other swords, and only 2 less attack than imperials. This is definitely the best for rushers
Correct me if I'm wrong, fire damage from dark axe was one of the reason that set was deemed less worth for clan PvPs.

Isn't the same thing applicable for magma set ?
Or the extra attack and ini balances out damage from sword?
First time trying this event, any recommendations on where to start?

Seems like a lot of choice in building an army plus determining parameters.

Firstly, dark set was only the second one after imperial with slightly more attack sacrificed for hero ini and knowledge points making it completely useless for mage factions and unholy in clan PvP. It was still used for rushers until heavens was released, heavens undoubtedly gives highest number of stats considering high sp and kn(these are useful for charmer elves, bw, unholy etc) for factions like classic elf and dark elf rusher, imperials is chosen over heaven if given an option because ini is a little higher.
I say magma is extremely good for rushers because of its high attack and ini, which definitely balances out damage from sword

The maximum number of attempts is 72, and the maximum number of wins is 48

for victory at difficulty level 10: 2 parts;
for victory at difficulty level 20: 3 parts;
for victory at difficulty level 30: 4 parts;
for victory at difficulty level 40: 5 parts each;
for victory at difficulty level 50: 6 parts each

You can skip level. Go from 0-5-10-15 in 4 tries.

Isn't there also the factor that magic damage applies to range as well as melee, similar to why in more basic encounters sword of cold is preferred. Of course in clan PvP resistances are much more significant and so this benefit may be less significant.
