Author | Changes required to potion of skills |
Recently, during this experiment event we experienced that some players had significantly huge stat points boost than other players which gave them big advantage as it was pvp event.
Admins introduced potion of skills few months ago which was great initiative and was welcomed by many. This gave players to catch up to average level of guild.
But, this average level formula is not accurate with more players of lower levels.
Now, my suggestion is not use average as data is skewed. But, instead use median values of ( min guild level and max guild level) particular combat level.
For example, For my combat level 15 and watcher guild. Players with level 1 or less can use it only. Average level is 2 which may be because lot of players are level 0. But, there are players I have seen with levels up to WG 6 for CL15.
Now, the range between lowest level and highest level is 6. If Median values is considered, median level would be 3 instead of average level of 2.
Also, introduce potion of skills for all other guilds. HG, MG, CG, LEG.
With these changes requested, pumped players will still enjoy advantage of their effort. But, comparatively boost will be less and games will become more competitive.
I am average for my level. I have seen top ranked player in this event of my cl has 13+ more stats than me. Now, how is that competitive and fair for all? |

this. We need potion for HG and MG or bring back the 100 gold skip.
I am now trying to catch up on both guilds and honestly, its making me wanting to quit the game. |
While I agree in theory to your point, the guy who has 13 more points has them because he labored intensively for that advantage over a span of years so a part of me is kinda not willing to take away the advantage
It’s not an “unfair” advantage in my view, more of a deserved one
But at the same time, the many (like myself) must be thought of in some way, and I think I’ll give a + |
Its like those of us who used to hunt for 0.5 skill points, the admins didnt refund us the 0.5 points for each hunt we did before the change, so it kind of sucks.

I doubt if you took all cl15s the median would be 3 |
just looked at the stats for the 9400 lvl15s on abouthwm. the 4700th guy has only wg 1 |
Don't think the median will be 3 instead of 2. But even if medians were considered for all guilds, overall I don't think the end result will change significantly. It will be few plus and minus cancelling each other.

were the wg levels sorted by ascending or descending order? |
were the wg levels sorted by ascending or descending order?
I don't think it makes a difference |
I know, just curious. WG 1 seemed pretty low for 15. Not that i should say it being only WG3 at 17 :D |
@virtual_vitrea 9400's Central value is 4700 which will be same in either ascending or descending order because it's "Central value" |
True. But we can't use median based on the hwm stat page. There is problem with using 4700 as the central number. We are talking about WG here and the thing is that I'm sure many of the players at CL 15 will have played and quit before WG was introduced. I don't think its fair to include them in the median calculation.
I don't know how the data is sorted, but i dont think there are even 4700 active players at CL15 in total, 9400 is impossibly high. |
