Tell me this battle was unjust, unfair, unequal and just plain downright rotten. This Dwarf was literally a very small Necromancer in disguise.
And he knew it too! and I didn't hesitate to let him know it either!
I could have played better, 1st of all I didn't get my correct setup but either way it goes?
I find that the other factions have more advantages than elves. We are paper, short-staffed b/c LWM won't let elves have rally AND luck at lvl 8 so really where just charmer elves at CL 5 against everybody with a heck ton of magic to just throw around as they please. Tell me it's not lopsided, and tell me that myth that every other faction is better than the one you have and i'll tell you...try being an elf as a career in this game. It sucks at the lower levels.
I've heard that it get's better at CL 10 for us, but on the contrary, everybody else BUFFS up too by CL 10. It's like LWM thinks that luck wins all games, without expert luck under CL 10 elves don't stand a chance against Necro, Wizards and 'apparently' dwarves. DE's are still a pain in the....erm other area and Barbs are super heavyweights. Those wreck gremlins? Undermine AND 14+ int%? And the Genies that are just...GAY...no offense and those gargoyles are sweet to just fly around the map while 13+ 60/60 mana hoarders just spell you to death when it's down to 1-4 units left in a pvp match. The list goes on and ON please don't think I am even close to being done...for I swear I or someone could write a book on it.
Where is the love for Elves? Where are all our special cool units later on in the game. Pristine Unicorns and Jade Dragons? That's it? What about Unfettered Giant Cyclops? Dark Liches? Ladons? Archangels and Paladins? Patriarchs and Lava Dragons? Curse and Disruption Ray? DECAY! We don't breath HALF of the great talents every other faction enjoys on a regular basis.
We basically have to rely on luck...and frankly, I have SUCH a huge bone to pick with that. Anyone feel the same?
Please don't flame or just be belligerent to this, if you have an open mind I am sure you will understand where I am coming from...
And last but certainly not least...I don't mind confidence at all. But it seems every game I've played where I gotten to the higher levels and I assure you I do, I encounter the most arrogant, think they know it all's. Is it just me or is it that the higher you get, the more snobby people become? Why does everyone have to be condescending and think they are absolutely correct and they are god or something. I persevere through exp, and eventually you see me somewhere like NOlder. Now, get your high horses CALMED DOWN I am NOT saying I will be...this game is almost like a pyramid scheme you would never touch nolder from where im standing unless I had a team of people playing non-stop day and night WINNING and just going 24/7 for like....hmmmm....the next couple years or so?
So please, don't get me wrong, I am good, but not THAT good. All I am really saying is..."If your snobby, please leave the lobby"
I just FEEL from the evidence of my battles and exp that some of the other factions are way more flashy, and have many more toys at their disposal and we elves have to rely on blind stupid doodah luck luck luck. Nothing else.
I am very keen to evidence to the contrary as I have such an open mind that if you can give me some solid information as to why elves are the most awesome faction for combat PvP...and NOT JUST THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT CANNON FODDER for GB, and the "deer in headlights, oh sht here comes the OGRES, Frontier U-BEARS, oh watch out oh f this lets just afk" 1v1 battles.

From what I can gather, you want to discuss the tribulations of being an elf. I can tell you with confidence that I do not do very well against elves in my combats. Maybe because my primary factions (knight and demon) have slow shooters. An elf's shooters annihilate my shooters before they even have a chance and then use them throughout the battle to mow down my other troops in addition to their other troops. Every faction has its weaknesses and strengths. It's really all in how you play. | Classic elves are great at ambushes, hunts and mercenaries. If you want to play group battles, change to charmers or even better, play as other faction.
I never liked duels as well as elf, 90% loss rate. :D | See this is what I mean some CL 99 always thinks they know better.

I am looking for techniques or sound advice for elven strategy. Now, the topic of elves strategy is old. This is a new spin on old news with different concepts involved. It could go either way really as this is not a query??? Thank you for your noble opinion that my thread should go elsewhere...and I hope you get that same feeling of ridicule when you put down your thoughts for everyone to see. GEEZUSsssss......
As for your woe with elves taking out your bowmen you have at least 39,000 of them to work with. At my CL 8 I have to rely on luck to cut your numbers down to size am I wrong? With def buffs you will be impenetrable I am not even getting deep into it you know that you have the advantage, all you have to do is take down like 20 bowmen and your good. IT's not even the same I am not amused. The demon Succubi have return shot which you KNOW is VERY formidable against elven bowmen. I have to sacrifice to set my sights on you. Then you FLY IN WITH 132 fiends and wth is that all about? So dude go post your own topic and let me tell you where it should go.

Thank you for giving some original feedback without being condescending at the same time it really feels more...idk...genuine? Techy is genuine as he can be but I wouldn't START off my answering post with hubris about where he/she thinks things should be because he is smarter OR SOMETHING.

Second, you have no and I mean no guild development at all and you expect to be FAIR and GOOD and awesome(huh) at PVPS, like seriously. It took me almost a year to have an account such as mine and I am nowhere good as most but still I play decent, wiz suck at few levels and I was pissed, I was pissed because TG was super difficult to reach 5. So just save money and get a TGI because ini for elf determines the fight.
Third(there always have to be three points), every faction has a few levels at which they rule and ones they drool so get over it, I DONT know better, oh but I do because I have been through that and most have from whom you dont want advice or think they are not qualified to answer. Build guilds, become thief, get faction resistance and good arts, it takes that much to be good in this game and this take years.
BTW what pisses me is( I have been playing this game for 6 years with various accounts and always developing them for a year then blocking and starting again,) now comes a guy who has just started coming out to us and telling the game is unfair, yes my child the game is unfair, so is life, you always have someone donating more so getting buffed and rich or somebody with better tactics, I hope this was good enough | : 0

This game puts lots of factions on unfair pedestals, what strategy could be implemented against a CL 9 necromancer?
Higher CL's I know my breadth of knowledge is small bits right now as my level is not a solid 14,15,16 but I am having troubles down HERE...not up there and I am figuring this out alone pretty much and it is tiresome. I KNOW I can win these fights, I just need a little extra oomph like idk SOME MAGIC! jesus Khrisna is that so hard? Maybe a little bit more bowmen? or MORE UNICORNS the f outta here my people why do Ogres have at least 20 SAME HP 50/50, Uni's 57/57 why do they have triple the amount we have???

You are pissed because some guy who knows what he sees, imperfect balance in a game touting balanced race fantasy factions.
I know that people who donate are the crème de la crème of the crop...it's like that almost for 'every' niche game in rpg...oh lets just call them development games because mmorpg's fall in same category of development. Phones these days with 'castle crunch' and stupid names like that. I am not angry and that at all, life is unfair. We move on, cry, eat, love, do the dishes and die. Yes...I have heard the notion...get at least 3 FSL for a number of factions to create 'resistance' against them.

I do not really put money into this game...I intend to, as I really do love it. I have had fun at this game.

What you didn't know is that I discovered this game 'years' ago. I am not new I just never went past CL 5. ROFL. No really I got into this, and then I left for a bit. Things haven't really changed except for all the new classes now benefited and I love to see how now a barb can play with magical properties or (I hate charmer elves btw LOL) Knights can be even more holy in their crusades then ever before :)
The thing is Mycroft is that, when there are basic disparities in a game, SOMEONE should point them out. Even if they are new. Breaking the status quo is what im all about. You should look up your natal birth chart in astrology to find key points of your own psyche if you haven't already. I am very Uranus activated.

(Mycroft not directed at you btw.) | | The point is that elves have very low total HP. As the in the battle, the dwarf had 2900 HP, elf 1700 HP. Dwarf has also rune of recover so the total HP may be up to 2 times higher than elf and that's huge difference. | Building the other factions castles up is time consuming and pretty ungodly in expense.
I know this game is a 'grind, grind, grind' years worth implementation. It's like a craft to get into this. You DO have to know what your doing to continue to gain exp and win all-important CG battles and the like.
You can't run in here crying and saying everybody is cheating because they buy 20 diamonds and exchange them for 50,000 gold ON A REGULAR BASIS. Let's not to mention clan benefits. It really is about WHO you know...not what you know on here. ANYWHERE for that matter. That is why life is sadly...beautifully tragic...and horrifyingly amazing at times. Usually both. Actually both all the time.
"I" am not crying, I am looking for change in a manner that would require a lot of code writing I am that deep into this matter lol. People are like "is this guy serious?" It's okay I work, sweat and pay you a dime of donation maybe you would consider BUFFING the elves. Pipedream you say eh? Yeaah...well dream on I will.
I have ideas, just test me I really believe that someone should take a look at battles, see that something is off, discuss it, make improvisations as to certain structural inconsistencies I am only making an unbiased observation and should not be ridiculed like the messiah for speaking against the Church of England. Or Henry for that matter...
Is it too much to ask for a little more bowmen at CL 8? What I am really looking for is...
All I am really asking for is the confidence to go into a pvp without feeling as if the odds are already stacked against my favor. Somehow, someway that should be a real issue.

It seems to me in most sane cases(LWM you are very sane btw no sarcasm ;)
If your defense is high, then not so much HP is needed, but in this case with most of the other factions this is completely and irrevocably ignored.
Elves have the least HP in the game, which by most accounts would validate the usefulness of having a more defensible array of troops. Not so.
Instead, not only are they granted almost non-existent defense barring the Unicorn. Which they neatly tie up by 'drastically' lowering their recruit count. They are also one of the least blessed in overall HP AND(Just like the Unicorn) they are benefited with almost no troops. The druids are good defensive units yes, but for extended attack and guerilla tactics they are hopelessly clumsy.
In short, they "whack" you upside the head with a mahogany stick(oh wait it's gotta be a yew wood stick..gotta be :\ ) and they call that "combat" for them.
Yes stoneskin is good and good lord you need SOME kind of defense since they are so short-manned on the battlefield. GOd forbid they didn't have that ability...not that it saves much anyway
In short they have:
1. Low #'s
2. Low defence
3. Insubstantial Magic CL 5-9
Those are major points. Key points and are glaringly...in fact, the first two points are enough to say...so what DO THEY HAVE?
And that's exactly that. I am really hard pressed to say they have anything...

Deadly serious...@Meshy. | Charmer elves are very competative opponent, thanks to their racial ability. If you call Dwarf as small necromancer, then i call charmer elf as small mage. Its spell power increases time to time and finally, its powerful enough to deal blastful of damage. Anyway i agree with you. If you happen to be barbarian and battle an elf, or vice-versa, the weak points of elf become prominent. Barbs have Rocs and wolfies with are melee units, orcs and sometimes goblin archers which are ranged units and ogres which are defensive units (for orcs). Elves have high damage and low health. But in such a combat, one notices that orcs turn arrives sooner than elven archers. So, they are at a huge loss. Then huge army of bar then marches into elf and slay them. THIS PARITY NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.

Abuse of capitalization (warning) | You could also trying increasing your laborers' guild, which increases your defense by 1 for every other 2 guild levels. Some advice that you are free to take or leave: focus more on earning FSP than EXP. If you have a higher FSP level than your opponent, then you already have a slight advantage over them. You can increase your FSP faster than EXP by completing hunts and easy mercenary quests. |
