the art bonus from the diamond sale.
is it worth the money?
and the current market price is at 60K. how high can it get?
i do want to donate but i still have quite some diamonds that i do not know where to spend on(direct conversion is not worth at all) |
Diamond upgrades are probably the best use for diamonds.
Not sure how high the price will get, could be useful against charmer elves and wiz enemy in PvP / events. |

No, suppose shrews cost 25 diamonds, you'll just have to go to your castle upgrades and click on buy with 25 diamonds option, only 25 diamonds would be spent no resources. |

You just pay the diamonds - So diamond upgrades not only give you the advantage of the upgrade, but also save you the gold and resource cost of building that castle building when you level up - a double bonus really
IF you compare it to a maskrobe which gives a 12% defence from level 8 onwards then if you are level 8 it loses out on ranged def, but still has the +1 def and ini as well as 10% magic. As you move upwards fro 8-15 it is comparatively better as the ranged resistance scales with t, till you get to the point from really level 11/12 onwards it is clearly much better than any other similar cloak.
Therefore if you ever have cause to field an army where ranged defence is more useful than ranged offence (for example most watchers guild castle sieges no matter what faction) and are level 11 and above then this is a very good item.
I must disagree with a few that this has nerfed some other factions (I am being a touch pedantic) and do not think they have been nerfed as the recruit count and abilities are exactly the same as before. Equally however this item does give a significantly more effective defence for melee armies against ranged and magic armies (thus proportionally negatively effect charmer elves and battlewise the most (pssibly some barb and necro builds as well) |
then its undeniably one of the best ways to spend diamonds...
but then again the conversion rate is still high roughly 40 bucks for 20 diamonds so well....

Obviously by nerf I wasn't referring to troops in specific.
It affects charmer and bw more than barb and necro too, because we have magic and range both, giving higher resistance to range, a quite large magic resistance(10%) and 1 def and 1% ini to top it off is clearly quite a bit, BoL in no way neutralizes it. |
if you are main BW, this item is not too good. you better having back item to increase spell power or ranged damage.
this item for me, DE/TDE with no proper ranged unit is a must item in pvp. it give me protection from charmer elf and BW. the double protection (magic and ranged) is balanced by the mediocre value of them 10% magic shield and 13% ranged resist at my CL. |
