Author | How good is alt DE |
Hi guys i just came back to the game and i have no idea about the tamer DE
If someone could make an effort and help me understand them :P |
I've been playing it since it came out and I'm very pleased. It's a fun faction, and it's nice that you can adjust your stategy in the middle of a battle, by choosing which creatures to summon. |
Ive been told its a very powerful faction at higher levels once you can summon better creatures like harpies
They hit really hard and the new stalkers with the invisibility ability have changed combat for DE (although I believe theres been problems with AI?) |
Faced quite a few in the light vs dark event as level 14, quite an interesting faction alt for sure.
More than the harpies the annoying ones are spiders in 1vs1 and 2vs2 for sure, the poison of 100+ damage is really annoying, besides the spiders themselves hit really hard. In the light vs dark event you didn't face DD though, however I assume in DD vs TDE you would suffer, as vermins can suck out your mana and then the dark spells.
Only strategical problem is of course lack of shooters, but still the tankiness of TDE and summons make up for it.
In terms of PvE enemy AI is not doing too well, as they focus only on main troops and almost never hit summons, so it's a dream for harpies. So PvE (or PvP against AI) should be advantageous.
Other than that I am looking forward to the minor tournament to see how it performs, especially against DD :) |
Tamer DE is a Class for PvP, DE will be 100% of the times (IMO) better at Hunts.
Still, at PvP it can be beyond annoying Tbh:
1. Ways to Outplay the opponent (Invisibility?).
2. Tanky (Big Minotoars and big Lizzards).
3. Summons:
- You cant (Or shouldnt really) kill them, because they would Summon moar and you would just waste your time.
- OP (Overpowered) against AI, since AI wont target them Summons coz they appear as "Gated" Creatures.
- Strong overall, you can choose between 40 Harpies (Shrews Version 2.0), or A HUNDRED Spiders (Which Root like TreeFolk Btw).
I think that explains a little bit overall.
I wouldnt scream "Broken"/Overpowered, but they are quite strong in PvP Tbh. |
Still...
I prefer Normal DE most of the times in PvP aswell because I find Tamer DE requires way more Skill than Normal DE does (IMHO), and Im a noob. XD
No, seriously: I think playing TDE requires "Skill", I respect ppl who usually play that Class. |
can anyone give me a formula or something to calculate no. of summoned creatures |
for barbmaster:

It is dependent on combat level and faction level.
If you follow the link to HWM daily you will see a partially complete list of how many troops you will summon at each combat level and faction level.
It is in Russian, but since it is numbers and visuals it is easy to understand.
At combat level 11, faction level 5 you can recruit: 41 spiders, 15 harpies or 15 evil eyes. You may only have one summoned stack on the battlefield at a time. |
You may only have one summoned stack on the battlefield at a time.
Oh, also, to add to this:
Summons are considered "Gated" Creatures, like Demon Gates.
Meaning it doesnt have to die for you to lose, they just have to kill the "Original" Creatures.
IDK if I explained well Tbh. |
Invisibility in a group battle can make them hard to beat even if your are dominant if used right. In this battle we lose despite at one point being in a strong position, simply because there were two full stacks of spiders that could be summoned at will, and one invisible stack for each army that we did not know where it was, and moving around to where it could be would leave oneself webbed by said spiders.

Shows the skill required, if they had broken invisibility earlier for a strike they would probably have lost, as it was they won. |
Its good.. but prone to debuffs. Both offense and defense is usually concentrated about mino gladiators. In group battles, its easy to focus debuffs on a single mino stack and hinder DE. Thankfully, spiders are too good to compensate for that ;)
But the spiders can fall quickly with 11 hp per unit especially against a strong ranged army or if enemy uses dom of fire properly which is gonna happen more often than you will expect. That's why its recommended to have 40 mana to restore full stack multiple times when half or more perishes. |

What if you face DD with vermins? |
for randomr1:
You can still summon once. If you have more than 30 mana. In general, there are worse things DD does (blinding/ hypnosis) than stopping summons ;) |
