AuthorCheating players and clans

Obviously, Black Frog did some cheating to get hold of some gold and donated part of that to the clan Immortal Dynasty. Did the clan do something wrong? Should the gold be removed from the clan? Feel free to voice your opinions.

The official policy of A&D was, and as far as I know still is, to accept anyone without checking transfer log. Jedi clearly stated that it is the sweepers job to do that, not any clans. Many dirty players has been happily accepted into A&D and even been allowed to stay after the cheating was revealed. As far as I know, no donations of several 100k has been accepted to A&D from such players, but the principle is still the same. I think only Empire`s Wrath got a firm policy (that is actually enforced) against cheating.

The general principle for dealing with dirty money in the game is to fine the amount that was gained. No more, no less. In severe cases, the involved characters are also blocked. I suppose a fine could be applied to Immortal Dynasty for this. I have never seen a clan get fined before so it will be interesting to see what happens.

That's true.
I asked him this a long time ago.

Most players help in the construction of clan buildings. if one such player is blocked for financial assist a while (maybe an year later) later, Should the clan suffer?
I am sure this would have happened hundreds of times by now.

And in another scenario, if the clan leader (normal/ military) deposits wrongly obatined money into the clan, do you place two fines? (one on him, one on the clan) ?
I don't think there is any point in discussing this, I don't think a fine of 300k will make any difference to the clan in all honesty, but more importantly it is not our job to decide.
I don't know who decides on fines(admins, mods, etc.) but whoever it is will decide.
I know no detail about this case, but i am sure admins will do whatever they belive will keep game clear from cheating as much as possible.

One of the ways to do that could be just asking acused clan to voluntarily returns money to Empire.
That even do not have to be from admins, ICC could do that.
That would be a very smart move actually i think.
It would give the clan a chance to prove its innocence and prove they are dedicated to keeping the game clear.
Without any penalties, or policies that could change way clans are behaving.
End lets be honest, returnig the money is the right think to do.
No penalties or fines, just give the money back, which is proven to be illegal.

I see no problem in that, i really do not see any argument against that move.
Especially since that amount of money really are not a problem for a clan.
Clan is not responsible for every move of a player, it could not be.
That would mean that you need a god damn logistics to watch over 250 transfer logs on daily basis.
And that would change the core mechanics of the clan concept.

One more thing, there is a topic here on the forum what we think until when will this game last.
As long as they keep it clean of cheating.
I really do not belive in "presumption of innocence"
From my expirience as a gamer, "presumption of guilt" is really working better :)

So, why not give clan a chance to proove that they want to play it clear.
And we play the Game again :)

One cheater down, many more to go, i fear.
p.s. Sorry for bad English.
I am on vacation and stoned.
Brain is on vacation also :)
I don't think the clan should be penalized. The player who did the act was already fined, and this is fine enough in my opinion. Yes, the clan got some money (300k someone has said, but is it a big amount for a military clan? No, it isn't.). I'm not sure if a clan has already been penalized for a player's act, but in any case, looking the precedents of other cases, the clan shouldn't.

A lot of players used their multies to buy and sell clan resources (facilities get gold, players enroll, clan defends the mine -> more gold to the clan). The multies were blocked in these cases, and neither the main account nor the clan was fined.

Of course, if the case happens again (and again, and again...) then we have a different situation, but by the current one, it is something that may happen with any clan.
for _Sworks_:
So what if another military clan uses 10 multi accounts, and each transfer 30k to the clan? Would it be acceptable then? This case is effectively the same thing, as 10 players illegally donating a clan 30k each is the same as one player donating 300k illegally.

Do you realize how much effort it would take to save 30k on 10 accounts? I certainly don't think its worth the pain. There are worse things already existing in this game. We probably have bots who take away enroll opportunities from real players and still we are supposed to be more concerned about hypothetical multis?
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
