If you are referring to a certain guy correcting his grammar whilst being rude.. that is not a burn at all. I would feel pity for the person who tried to prove himself superior doing that if he were not joking.
I don't think it is fair to express yourself in that manner because of someone's lack of grammar/linguistic skill. |

Let me explain a little about lengths of bans. We don't like to punish, but sometimes a reminder needs to be done to keep the forum tidy. First time offenders usually get 1 minute or so. Repeated offenses give longer bans. No fixed scale, so it is individually adjusted.
The first few times you break a specific rule, it can be mistake or ignorance. The 20th time it is on purpose and will be handled accordingly.
I agree that some rules seem stupid, but it is generally because of historical reasons. Both the rules about long strings and capitals are good examples. When it was misused too heavily, rules were created. They might be a bit too strict, but most mods are able to accept some small steps over the line if it still looks good and is within reason. Don't be surprised to find some minor offenses being accepted.
Bans are not the end of the world. It does not affect your game in any significant way. It is just a small note that something was not completely right and could be improved.

Being out of forum, moderators charges their banhammer. If moderator appear once per month in there, he instantly permaban anyone.

I really failed to see how post 9 or this thread as a whole would make anyone more interested on being active in forums.
At beginning there's the curiosity about game mechanics, which incentive people to question, when a new feature or a event is released, usually the forum will get a popularity hit, but eventually when eveything gets known and repetitive, there's no much else to add or to be said, really. Some times the silence is more productive than words without meaning. |
