When attacking an opponent, a small sword icon appears next to the square on which you attack the opponent. It points in the direction of the attack, but if there are multiple directions towards which the attack can be made, it is often difficult to direct it in the precise direction which is desired, sometimes fluctuating between diagonal and vertical/horizontal.
This would be an important and useful change particularly for units with the knockback special ability. If the unit is facing the edge of the field, for example, and you want to attack in a straight line so the knockback pushes the enemy onto the square behind it, then if the angle of the sword icon is on the diagonal instead, it may knock the unit against the edge of the field instead, permitting it to retaliate. |
