What is the point of an archaeological ban?
1) Many people might find an old topic and comment on it, of course it will be annoying if it is done purposely just to fill forums with ancient topics but otherwise there is nothing wrong with it. Besides, except GG and QH forums, the rest are extremely inactive.
2) It doesn't really matter to me though, I have no interest in digging up ancient topics, however, if archaeology is THAT intolerable, then why not just not let anybody post in ancient forums, like in GG we see this: "This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions." even in topics that have not had activity for just a few days. | Well you have partly answered the question - Archaeology to bring back threads that are no longer relevant or to flood the forums should be bannable, because it is annoying.
Having said that, there might be some relevance bringing back an old thread if new developments have been made (in the game, for example) and you want to re-ignite the discussion using the previous thread. So it is not always ideal to have the threads time out like that. | Oh thank very much for letting me know Corey :)
