Just joined TG a week ago. What arts should I wear in the thief battles?
It says that the caravans will become easier after each loss and stronger after each win. So is wearing the min OA the best strategy?
Also, it seems the caravans become stronger after I advanced to level 1 of TG. Is this something expected? |

Personaly I tend to agree although opinions differ (I assume by OA you mean AP). |
thieving with mini ap is good but it gives 40-45% win for elf, so in long term it is good.
caravan strength will increase,
1) when your character level up
2)lvlup in Thief guild |
U can do as much with min AP u can (OA)
but, the AI is smarter now, so, any way it will be more harder to do it with min AP...
i do them full arts more or less all of quests
otherwise u will lose more then winn
so u get bad lose win rate.. adn it will take forever to get points for tg..
with min AP |

Cannot agree with you. I build 5 lvl TG in min AP. Even now with new AI I play and win about 50% caravans, maybe more, just like everyone who is playing in full art after reach a certain difficulty lvl |
I prefer a set with 26 AP, which gives me good attack, defense and initiative for a price of 360 gold.
My main argument for wearing more then minimum AP is:
You can bring down caravan strength down to a playable level with minimum AP, but you can't bring down enemy player strength.
Against human players it's always an advantage to have some more arts on. With my set I can win against players who are wearing full arts, but definetly against players who where minimum arts (majority).
I am nearly halfway to TG5. 90% win rate against human players (92 TG points), 62% win rate against caravans (384 TG points).
Judge yourself. I am combat level 9, level 13 might be another world. |
I started doing on semi full ap, for above's reason. (don't give any chance to players)
But by then, I was playing with a chaos DE sorcerer, and they really suck on TG, in comparison to pure might... So I was kind forced to go with full ap, to increase the odds of wining against AI... Then, I've pushed the limits forward, and I just couldn't do any battles without wearing full ap. A sad history.
If at least those free potions are avaliable by then...
On CL 9 however, I'll try to set down my arts to semi full ap again, hope it works. |
If you want good ratio, go for more ap (stronger cavaran / expensive). I noticed exp gain didn't increase but fsp increase each time you won, decrease if lose. My fsp gain per won increase from 2.05 to 2.1 with ABC.
If you are not rush and gold limited, you can use lower ap and slowly build up your thief guild :) |

How do you get these numbers? From combat log? |
I'm running several scripts from here: http://angelsndemons.freeforums.org/19-scripts-approved-lwm-scripts-t96.html |
I wouldn't go full AP. The costs really add up, especially if you thieve frequently.
I think low but not minimum AP or a little more is best. It gives you a good enough advantage against players especially min ap players and it definitely won't cost as much.
Getting an ambush against another player is an opportunity you wouldn't want to pass up so Min AP is not good.
At the same time if you ambush a player who AFKs or has only one unit, you will get bad FSP and if you happen to be thieving with full arts all the time this would be a waste of money comparatively.
Sure you still get your 1 TG point but you could of done that with min AP too and not have it cost so much. |
