is it purely luck based like in roulette or some stratergy?? i see some people keep winning but some (like me) losing i really hate that game |
It is a beautiful combination of strategy and luck.
I just do not like the card dragon eye in card tourney which is purely luck based |
its an ugly combination if you would ask me |
It is an combination of luck and skill.
So it is not purely luck as in roulette, but the luck factor is dominating compared to PvP combats.
Skill does effect it and you therefore see long term win ratio in the area 40-60% anything above and below that is very rare. So if you want specifik numbers to it I would say 20% skill and 80% luck. |
that says it al% luck equalls 100 lol |
that says it al% luck equals 100 lol AI % ? we never play against AI in tavern |
I would even say that it is 80% skill and 20% luck.
If you do it completely random such as pick the first card in the row that you can play, you will likely lose over 90% of the games. With only some basic understanding you can do it much better.
When you have learned about all cards in the game and can estimate probabilities of what your opponent can have, you will be able to make great progress. It requires a good memory and intelligence. It also requires an interest and enthusiasm that I lack. |
for Poison Ivy:
This l is not an I. I guess he wanted to say all % of winning depends by 100 on luck or something.
for techbarb:
It's mostly luck yes, but if you are a bad strategist and have good luck, you can't win. Vise versa, if you have bad luck and are a good strategist you also can't win sometimes.
In short : Given that both you and your opponent have the same luck, the best strategist wins. Given that you and your opponent have the same sense, the most lucky wins. |
too sad i have very bad luck |
i'd say you cannot stick to any one long-term strategy in any one game; i.e, at any point your cards can make you go for winning by building up your tower when you were trying to demolish your opponent's, and vice-versa.
what you can have is a strategy regarding certain situations and card combos, for instance:
-discarding a card when you have enough mana and blue cards to play, but you want/need to play Dragon's Eye or any other good expensive blue card;
-not letting your opponent get within 20 range of building his tower if you don't have Dragon's Eye (15 if you don't have Diamond);
-if you have 2 cards that can destroy enemy mines (taking it to 0), then wait until your oponent plays a red card and gets to 0 ore to play them;
-if you have 3 or more monastery, and you oponent has 2, play dissension (-1 to all monasteries) right after your oponent uses up all mana (he'll be stuck with 1 monastery and 1 mana), etc etc
there are many "little strategies" you can follow, if you're... lucky enough to get the good cards :) |
