Author | Magic Proof: how to calculate? |
Hello! I have a doubt about how to calculate magic resistance.
In my last fight I had 12% magic proof:
https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?warid=594916490
But, during that battle I had:
- Heavy mithril boots (grants 5% magic shield)
- Heavy mithril coif (grants 5% magic shield)
- Mithril mail armour (grants 3% magic shield)
So total should be 13%, isn't it? Hero and troops had 12% in game.
Moreover I had talent: Resistance (hero's troops gain 20% magic shield), but this was not counted in my troops (this is probably a choice of the developers).
Anyway, total proof seems wrong, even if slightly.
Also, does Resistance really works, even if it is not indicated in troops stats?
Thanks for attention :) | 1-(1-0,05)*(1-0,05)*(1-0,03) = 0,124575 = 12,4575 % rounded down to 12 % | Uhm... thank you. Is this formula available in the guide or just orally transmitted? :D
Then, talent extra proof is not explicitly indicated in the stats, is it? | Take for example a lightning which deals 500 damage.
So as per the magic shield 5% 5% and 3%... it's damage will be reduced in the following manner which is exactly what Khellendros has stated.
500 - 5% - 5% - 3%
500 - 25 - 23.75 - 13.5375 = 437.7125 (viz. 12.4575% reduced)
As you can see, the damage reduction percentage takes the immediate previous number as the base. It does not add up first and then apply on the original damage.
Then, talent extra proof is not explicitly indicated in the stats, is it?
No it isn't. | Clear, need to brush up on the basis.
Thanks all, QATC :) | closed by Pile_Gp (2014-02-04 13:24:22) |
