but it also states min AP 20, so in theory it is possible to equip a weapon with 5 or more durability and the rest with only 1 durability. Then if you win, you do the other fights with less than 20 AP?

I guess you need to have min ap(20) for maximum number of battles(5/4) to enlists into tourney.
The condition is divided into 2 steps.
first it will check the duro of weapon(min 5/4 duro on weapon)
Then it will check whether the total ap satisfies the min ap condition with atleast 5/4 euro.
The message you got is when your ap not satisfies the first condition.
Yes it is possible to get into tourney with a wordern sword(7/7-1 ap) and some others arts with 19 ap with min of 5/4 duro. |

Correction, it is durability in place of duro/euro.
Min 5 durability for 1x1 and 4 for 2x2 and 3x3. |
