So I suggest that upon turning level 9 the message should read:
Reaches a new level! Unfortunately it is level 9. It's like level 8 with +1 AP requirement. Oh! Here's a 5 point increase in your talent as compensation. |

Yes CG is advisable in all levels, and more since last hidden update where experience is hugely increased in hunts , mercenaries and thieves.
Fsp is great in CG even if you loose. |
