I joined a tournament, got stuck on the first wave, waited 8 hours, got 0 exp.

You could try making a complaint about being stuck in the tournament there as technically, 1.8. The player has a right to defend his or her property in cases of game failures (real estate and mobile property cost can be recompensed).
However, the chances of you getting a refund are slim. Forget the gold, the Survival Tournament is often bugged these days, just be wary of that in the future when you go to participate in it. | Thank you, I have posted what happened on the 'technical support' section already,
