AuthorClass restrictions on duel/groub battle setup.
I find that particular classes at particular levels are way too overpowered, so, when setting up battles, I specify that there should be none of X class in a battle, however, this immediately attracts said class like a great big HEY LOOK AT ME!!! beacon.

Anyway, long story short, I feel that there should be a way to actually prevent these "race" classes from joining battles, if the creator doesn't want them there.
All factions are balanced (at least, just oficially).
Also, it will be harder to get full (with all 4/6 players, not last min duel) battle challenge.
So, bad idea.
I disagree entirely.

Given I'm level 5 at the moment (this time through), I'll use elves as an example.

At level 5, any class coming up against a light elf or two, has a significantly tougher battle than against any other class(es).

Of all the people I know who play, who aren't themselves light elves, none are prepared to join a battle against another team with elves, unless their own team has atleast an equal quantity.

There would be no issue filling battles, if we had the option of excluding overpowered classes.

You are mistaken. Wizard and magic DE can easily win elf.

There isn't any owepowerred class, there are just smart players..

This would mean that players are scared of certain factions and in this game Lords are supposed to be brave...
I've seen many of both fall to the elf.

All I'm after, is a fair fight, and a way to enfore the conditions of combat as defined pre battle.

Just as people are meant to follow the AP specifications of battle, people should be made to follow the other conditions.
+1 more advanced battle options would be good, AP restrictions too.

you want talk on balance? good, get your combat level to 8.

before that, certain factions have advantage because of level gap.
Level up asap, then you start enjoying this balanced game at combat level 8

elves are easy come and easy go have watched pwned by every faction.
knights have swords with large shield.
barbs have orcs whose ini is greater then elven bowmen.
magic DE can easily defeat elves that job is hard but by teaming up with other faction that weakness is overcomed I guess that's the total concept of GB.
Wizards... I guess you have got it by now.
demons can gate and block elven bowmen.
necros got skelly bows and ghosts to can do the job of finishing.

You took elves as example because every newbie is afraid of their elven and that's a common thing.dunno why everybody wants to team up with elf even they are so fragile.just be smart enough and you will make your way through it.

The majority of you are missing the point. I just want a way to actually enforce the combat terms, not specifically single out elves.
AP restricions aren't enforcable, so I can't see racial restrictions being coded.
As a coder myself, I can't see how AP restrictions would be difficult to enforce at all. The same is said for any other restriction, classes inclusive.
AP restrictions, diamonds or non-diamonds upgrades and one more ; faction level limitations .. :)
Dude Shaman !! You're taking it too far :D faction level ? That's too much !! :P

each class had a variety of talents, and recruitment setups.
some setups will always win against other setups
but these same setups will loose against some other setups

It's always a bit of a gamble, especially in a 1 on 1.
