I will try to be as concrete as possible.
My actual CL is 12 and soon 13
Im now Barb racial 8 but Im thinking change my faction.
My main objetive is ambushing so what do you think is better:
A) Stay as Barb
I have good racial and all buildings but ambushing as Barb is hard because they dont have any unit fast enought or units with multiple attacks.
They have orcs that are great but wolfs die fast , ogres are slow, barbs dont have spells... and orcs cant do all the job.
Barb now is good in GB but in upper levels I think they will not be as good as now.
B) Return to Elf
I have racial 5 and almost all buildings so it will not be expensive at all.
I dont know how elves work at thieving??
And in GB I dont like elves in lower levels but in CL 13 or more Elves looks fine for GB
C) Dark Elves
Only racial 1 here and some buildings but It will be more expensive.
I have ear lots of times DE are the kings of thieving, it has sense, high ini, high speed, no retal for shrews, lizzard charge, Hydras and dark magic.
In GB they are good too.
D) Begin with Demon
I dont have buildings and 0 racial so it will be the most expensive but I like very much demons.
Thieving they have cerberi with triple head , nightmares with high ini. and Succubi as good shooters.
Demos are great too in higher levels for GB.
I feel good with barb and since last update they are a bit more competitive but what do you think
Be Barb and go for racial 9 or try one of the others 3 options and have a secondary faction for ambushing purposes?

| i tont think that demons are good in gb. in duels they are, but in gb they die fast becouse of low hp. but its realy interseting to play as demon. |
well, if you look at ambushing caravans it doesnt matter what faction and what faction level you have.
If you lose enough you will eventually beat caravans.
So i would suggest where you would have the most fun with. |

Most people think that Barbarians don't need faction levels as much as other races but I disagree. They get full benefit from the basic level bonuses. Extra attack, defense, and initiative are good things for them. Staying as a Barbarian would be good.
On the other hand, you get small defense bonuses when you cross train. If you're leaning towards multi-classing, you should consider playing the faction who seem to kick your butt most of the time in PvP.
Lastly, you need to decide if you want to level up fast or slow. If you want to grow fast, pick the faction that's very good at thieving. This way you'll get stronger caravans through dynamic balancing, thus getting more experience. If you pick a faction that sucks at thieving, you'll end up fighting weaker caravans especially with low AP, therefore slowing your progress but, theoretically, will enable you to gather more Thief points per level. |
As from my personal expiriences i suggest you to be demon - it was very nice playing with them both in thief and group battles :D
also i cant say anything about DE - never play with that one. |
Well the factions that more kick my ass in GB as Grusharaburas say are Necros and Knights.
I like necros but the fact is I think that begin with faction 0 in both of them will very very hard.
I feel good with barb but having a second faction well developed is what im thinking now and these are my doubs, maybe elfs , maybe demon, maybe DE....
Any opinion about elves at ambush?

i suggest you Dark elf, because i've taste DE power. and i've been ambushed by many DE and die..
but Remember DE need high initiative and morale. :) |

Not only for one month, in levels 14-15 and having a good racial as barb, whats better or worse about the other 3 factions as fellow traveler.Elf, DE or Demon. :) |
| To get elves faction to level 7th you need another 330 fsp = more then 5th level on another faction, so i think its better go to DE or demon if you have financial possibilities to do so |
btw, with what gold were you planning to buy demon or dark elf castle?
Even if you sell all your elements + your level up reward for level 13 is not enough for a full castle with all upgades at level 13.
That means you will have to sell your (enchanted) artifacts as well.
So just stick to barbarian or elf :)
Then if somehow we get an event, you still have artifacts to participate :D |
Money is always a problem but i think that can afford a castle.
Maybe no full demon but yes DE ( I have buildings till level 8 or 9
And I have lot of shop arts in my inventory + lvl 13 reward ( 182k ) + Lvl 4 thieve art + 40k comes soon ( I hope!!! ) from 41 and 42 ST.
And in medium place ( 2-3 months ) my TG Invitation at level 5 |
