I think the cards should be able to be sent to anyone. I am sure that in medieval times there were same sex relationships in closets mainly, but I'm sure there were.
It just makes the game feel more homely to people of different gender preferences. Its not a "gay rights" thing just a practical way to make everyone feel included in the game.

| Same sex are allowed to register as spouse and share estate benefits of a spouse. Seems weird that you cant send cards to same sex but can register as a couple of the same sex. |
