| Does level in tavern plays any role in playing the game, apart from putting stakes? |

| I guess most playes do it for the luck drink they get on certain levels. They play without any stakes and in the time when they are recoveing health so that they may have luck on certain levels. I find it too boring. |

It would indeed be more interesting with some sort of CCG in the tavern, but Arcomage (the cardgame in the tavern) is totally fair for everyone as it doesn't take levels into account in any way.
Any player can play against any player on a totally fair ground. (Except for real life intelligence and strategy of course.)
