legionaries seem to be a purely support unit. you can have a few strategically positioned to utilize their big shield.
this means you'll rely on vampires, apparations and liches to do all the damage.
the thing that really swings it IMHO is that they would cut into slots i'd like for infected zombies.
personally i would prefer keeping a large stack of skeletal bowmen and a few infected zombies rather than legionaries. |

I don't think legionaries work efficiently in hunt, MG or TG..with it's ridiculous amount of hp , it can be 1 hit KO of the skeles
in pvp it might work a little..depends how many skele you recruited..but in pvp player could kill your legionaries in 1-2 blow..which also kinda useless
what we want from this skeles is shield allies ability..with it's short hp..stun is USELESS at all |

i think skele bow way more better than legionaries..legionaries just act like 2nd version of hobgoblin..but legionaries doesn't have morale

well, skel legion give me hard time in HoMM XD
anyway, i still see the potential of it. large shield + stun + large amount of recruit due to nerco faction skill. they arent slow and with steady dmg output. it can very deadly as well. |

Not in higest levels.
legionnaires (if you take into account the number one could recruit) have very similar stats with guardians (comparing them to gobs is a joke).
Lvl 15 knight with faction level 10 can recruit 104 guards -> 2700 hp
Lvl 15 necro with faction level 10 can recruit 380 skellies -> 2660 hp (with vitality)
With faction lvl 11, the advantage would probably shift in favor of the necro.
Guards have 3 extra def points, legionnaires have magic shield.
Now i can't remember many games were guards could be killed in 1 turn without major comitment from the opposing team.
The big drawback with max legionnaires recruit, is loosing most of the necros ranged power. |

Also skeletal legionnaires also have 25% more speed and initiative (5, 10 instead of 4, 8). They will definitely reach the enemy. |

They are a new neutral unit.. you can hunt them. But its also an altgrade of skeletons and will probably be implemented as one at some point. |
